Sir Reginald Maximus is a Knight of the Realm, made so by Queen Elizabeth II in reward for exemplary military service. He met Matsuo Shin and Eiry while in the Yukatan (see Matsuo Shin and The Temple of the Serpent). He is a widower with a daughter, Emmy, who is a ballerina in a small company in the greater London area.
After his adventure with Matsuo in Greece, he returned to Japan to help the promising young archaeologist in his quest to rediscover the Silver Millennium and other ancient forgotten time periods. He was instrumental in transporting Greenstone Manor into the country as Matsuo's residence, and acts as steward and butler in the household.
