Early Life
Megan Smithson was born on March 20 to Sarah and Peter Bjorson in the city of St. Paul, Minnesota. As both parents were former members of the Rising Valkyrie Unit, the two suspected that their daughter might harbor some manner of spirit energy power within her, but much to their surprise and relief, she showed no signs of such ability, even at a young age. Trying to escape the turmoil of their past, the two kept their previous lives hidden from their daughter, who for the most part grew up it seemed in a rather ordinary life. When Megan was 10 years old, her parents moved from St Paul, Minnesota to the small suburb of Oak Pond, partially for Peter's work and partially to allow Megan to attend the Golden Tree Academy, a private school which they felt offered Megan a better education then the public schools in the city. While at first Megan felt like a stranger in the much smaller town, she soon found solace in the various insects which she would find the fields outside of the town limits.

After her first day at Golden Tree Academy, Megan had retreated to one of the fields to search for insects once again. After spotting an unusual butterfly, Megan decided to chase after it and soon after found herself in the middle of a mysterious forest. Trying to find her way out again, Megan spotted a strange small golden cocoon buried among the leaves. Picking it up, she was soon startled by a butterfly like creature, causing her to flee back out of the woods.
