Kasagi Junia is the second son of Kevin Junia and Makoto Kino Junia. He is a Prince of Jupiter, and though he is quite a fighter, it is the scholarly arts that holds his fancy. He has inherited his father's tactical mind and his mother's patience, which has served him well in fights, both physical and mental. It is not uncommon to see a book in his hand.

"My father holds Zhuge Liang in the highest regard and I understand why. If I can match a tenth of his ability, I will be able to accomplish the greatest things for Jupiter and the Junia."

It was a hot and quiet day on July 7 when Kasagi was born into the world. After being in labor for 5 hours this time, Makoto had Kasagi in her hands, and he slept peacefully there. Labor, while hard on her, was much easier this go around then when the twins came about. However, because of the quick turnaround between the twins and him, Makoto eyed her husband, a little annoyed. He was oblivious to this situation, having seen his second son join the family.

Kasagi was not a nerd, but he wasn't a jock either... he would be better classified as an extremely gifted and athletic geek. As he was the middle child, he was not expected to worry about the throne as much. However, his intelligence was truly a blessing to the family and he would not waste this gift.

Kasagi got his hands on a Nervegear, thanks in no small part to the Kanorian-US Navy-JMSDF (Japanese Maritime Self Defense Forces) joint investment and subsequent training opportunity it provided. Taking an aspect of Kanorian technology, the Augmented Reality (AR) holosuite programs, an VR was created where the Sailors of the three branches could train and run simulations without the risk of anyone actually dying while training up their forces. Kayaba Akihiko was lead researcher for the Nervegear and was able to perfect his masterpiece to the benefit of the three military groups. Kayaba however was fascinated with testing the actual limits of VR and human responses to a life and death situation. The otaku community would provide him with that insight and so he created Sword Art Online. Kasagi, having knowledge of the future that he had brought with him into the past, knew what he had to do. He was fascinated with the game itself as well, but knowing the real truth, prepared to make the plunge. He would be one of 10,000 souls that would later get trapped and held hostage in the game. It also didn't help that when he was beta testing, he ran into a young lady his age named Koharu that had never played MMOs before. They would rejoin at the beginning and would learn the truth. The game was a trap devised by Kayaba, and it became a Death Game. Their lives were on the line. Kasagi was determined to save this young lady at all costs, and save as many of the players as possible... the future of Jupiter and possibly the Coalition of the Guardian Republic rode on his success. Stopping the game would have just as a detrimental of an affect however, as Jupiter would benefit from many battle-hardened players turned great individuals. He would run into many of the big names in the game there: Kirito, Asuna, and Heathcliff to name a few, and a few others who shouldn't have been there. Kasagi had changed the game unbeknownst to him... and may have actually did more to help save people because of it. With Kasagi stuck in the game, his father Kevin alongside Aliana looked for options quickly. Kassgi actually sent a message to Kayaba about what to say and possibly do to prevent his Aunt's interference. People don't know that part, but Kasagi was playing the very long game here and the early shutdown of SAO would have doomed Jupiter... possibly in his opinion. About six months into the game, Koharu and Kasagi had grown very close. They were partners in battle, but that led to Koharu's feelings for him deepening. Kasagi's own feelings had him pining for her everyday. What had been an infatuation before was becoming full blown love for his battle partner, in their struggles to stay alive.
