A Sad Past
Born in December 29th, 1885, Lynne travelled to California with her father, mother and baby brother, hoping to create a new life for themselves. Settling in the town of Lode, her life was a quiet but happy one until one day Lode was attacked by the forces of a corrupt military colonal. Catching the eye of the criminal, Lynn was chosen for his "special attentions" but managed to escape, scarring the man with a boiling grease. In retaliation, the man shot her, as well as her family, leaving the small girl for dead. While her family may have indeed been killed, the townsfolk discovered that she had barely survived and nursed her back to health, the child swearing revenge against the man who had destroyed her life.
At some point, Lynne met a rogue asian warrior named Smiley, who taught her how to use blades, as well as the secrets of the Sad Flute Clan.
Love, War and Revenge
Lynne vs Yang
Several years later, Yang, another runaway from the Sad Flute Clan, arrived in Lode, carrying with him an infant child that he had saved from a clan purge that he had taken part in. Lynne took a liking the young man, who she nicknamed Skinny and the small baby April. Teaching her more swordsmanship by her own request, the two began to form a bond which blossomed into love. Eventually Yang's fellow clan members would track him down and alongside the returning Colonal, the two would eventually defeat each other's enemies, finally fulfilling Lynne's promise of vengence against the one who tore her life apart.
After a single night of passion, Yang would leave Lynne, worried that his enemies would track her and the baby April down. Taking April, Lynne would change her last name to "Sunrise", remembering the last time she ever saw her lover, walking away in the Sunset, but believing that a new day would dawn for them both, stating: "Th' sun might be settin' here, but it's always risin' somewhere."
Lynne would never see Yang again after that.
A Mother to the End
Lynne, the mother bear
Lynne soon after would learn that she was carrying Yang's child and wanting to make sure she was safe, travelled away from Lode, making her way to Texas. (NOTE: check with X before this next part).
Settling on a small farm, Lynne assumed a quiet and unassuming life as a farmer, raising her two daughters while Mifune continued to protect them. However, tragidty was not far behind. One day, Lynne spotted a twister on the horizon heading directly towards the ranchhouse. Thinking quickly, Lynne handed the three year old Gemini and April to Mifune and told him to hide unerneath a makeshift hiding place they had constructed in case of attack. Lynne herself tried to move the animals to saftey, but April and Gemini, fearing for their mother's life, ran out to try and catch up to her. As the twister hit, Lynne was able to throw Gemini to Mifune but was forced to shield April, who refused to leave her side.
When the dust settled, Lynne's body was found a few hundred feet by Mifune, crushed and dead but he could find no sign of April. The samurai buried the woman, promising to both protect and train Gemini in her memory.
The Deadliest of Sunrises
Desiring an enforcer for her plans, _____ had the dry mummified corpse of Lynne dug up from her grave and transported to one of _____'s bases. Utilizing the last remains of a Super Soldier Serum Varient, as well as revitalizing chemical baths mixed with certain mystical ceremonies, Lynne was resurrected, though her mind was left submerged. Replacing parts of her bodies with machinery, the newly reborn Lynne was sent out to procure a proper weapon for herself (For some reason the Cyborg-Lynne would not touch the twin swords that Yang left her). Lynne ambushed May, stabbing her and stealing her katana before heading off to her pre-programmed destination.
Lynne resurrected
Having revealed herself, Lynne was soon hunted down by May and Geminine (leaving Gemini out of the way as she might too soft to fight against Lynne). Geminine was sidelined by Lynne who managed to badly injure her but May managed to fight on. During the battle, Lynne's memories began to return, causing her hestitate and prevent herself from making the killing blow. Forced into a mental deadlock, Lynne tore out her own cybernetic eye, sending herself into a near death state.
Sunrise once more
Transported to The Hotel, Lynne was placed under sedation, while her missing body parts were cloned and reattached. Briefly waking up, Lynne attacked May while trying to escape, as the Super Soldier serum in her body reacted to the drugs she had been placed under, causing her to hallucinate events from her past. Knocked out once more, Lynne managed to awake in a clearer mind, reuniting with her children once again.
Abilities
Super Soldier Serum
As part of her resurrection, Lynne was injected with a variant of the Super Soldier Serum. This variant seems particuarly similer to the one used by the Black Widow program and thus gives Lynne the following abilities:
- Enhanced Strength: Lynne has strength comparable to the upper limit that a woman of her age and body type can achieve. This does NOT mean she has superhuman strength, rather she is close to as perfect athletically as she can be.
- Enhanced Speed: Lynne can run the maximize amount that a trained athlete can without tiring out.
- Enhanced Agility: Lynne's reaction time and movement instincts are heightened, allowing her to move as well as a trained athlete.
- Enhanced Healing: While not as dramatic as most healing factors in The Hotel, Lynne can heal quicker then a normal human. As well her chances of getting sick are lower, though not eliminated.
- Enhanced Lifespan: Due to the serum as well as further side effects of the genetic tampering done to her, Lynne's aging process has been slowed to an absolute crawl. As well, she looks younger then when she first died.
Swordsmanship
Having been trained by Smiley, Yang and Mifune, Lynne is well versed in the use of eastern style swordmanship. Lynne practices a varation on the Mifune style with additional moves based off the other two fighters. In addition, Lynne prefers the use of two Katanas instead of one.
Lynne is also very talented in the art of knife throwing, having an amazing sense of aim and precision.
Trivia
- Lynne belives Yang's soul resides in his Katana, which is why she is so protective of it. It is unknown if this is correct.
- Lynne's cooking skills are limited as she belives in only three food groups: "Grease, Beans and Meat"
