Quinox has been ruled by queens with some exceptions since its society formed at an unknown point in ancient history. Many of the queens had become folk heroes to the people, and some had left lasting impacts on the planet's society at large. The list of rulers of the planet was known as the Legacy of Rulers, and copies were available to the general public, while the original list was kept in the vaults of the palace in Mysn-Ku. Note: many of the names here are translated from their original Quinoxian to fit more common Earth names. Example: Patricia was actually known as Patri'ka in the original histories.

Summarized Version

The Originators

The Mother Queen Reign Time: UNKNOWN. The originator of both the entire lineage of the Quinox royal family and one of the creators of Quinox society. Much of the information on her was hushed up by the Quinox royal government.

The Pioneers

Queen Patricia 1 SS-6 SS. Fought the War of The Loadstone and commissioned The Temple of The Light. Subject of The War-Queen of Quinox.

The Missing Rulers

From 14 three six to 20 seven six, most of the rulers are not known at this time due to missing records. One name is known, that of Queen Illmarter II. We have yet to recover the rest of this information. This period of time is known as the Dark Days of Quinox.

The Final Rulers

Queen Temera II 1 ES-7 ES. Increased diplomatic ties to the other outer worlds.

King Lorath 7 ES-14 ES. Made final adjustments to the Quinoxian Articles of Government.

Queen Katyin 14 ES-23 ES. Nothing known that is noteworthy.

Queen Lakma 1 NS-9 NS. Finalized final work on the Royal Palace in Mysn-Ku (Tempest City).

Queen Minerva 9 NS-15 NS. The last ruler of Quinox. Helped seal away Queen Necros and exile Garmus-Hel. Mother of Matsumi Kaze and Matsuo Shin in the Silver Millennium.

It is expected that someday in the far future, Matsumi will join this list as a ruler.

The Mother Queen: The legendary originator of the Quinoxian royal line, as well as one of the creators of the whole of Quinox. She, as well as her fellow Six Who Came First, resided within the city of Quinox (from which the planet gets it’s name), until they ascended to the Otherworld. Much of the information of her time as reign is written in legend and story through the holy texts of Quinoxian Society, forming what is sometimes known as the “Time of the Six”. She plays an important part in Scrolls 1-53 of the Holy Texts, as well as surprisingly the Earth epic known as the “Titanomachy”, which chronicles the legendary time before the Selanos came. It is said all rulers receive their "light" from her and are in turn inheritors of her will and power.

Ilimater: Often considered the first true Queen of Quinox, Ilimater was the daughter of The Mother Queen and her fellow Six, Sela’nos. She began what would become the first capitol, U-Ko, located not far from the location from which the City of Quinox was said to reside. Though listed as first ruler of the planet, she in fact only ruled a fairly small area, in which lived a handful of clans, notably the Mysn, the Vensa, as well as the Orpha and Muroleli. However, given that the royal family trace their lineage back to her, she has technically been retroactively named the ruler of the entire world. Ilimater has been mentioned in numerous texts due to her importance, with her playing a vital role in the story of the Voyage of Silas, the last survivor of the Mysn Clan, a tale chronicled in Scrolls 50-79, as well as popularized in several other variations such as the poet Des’run’s Silassonia, as well as the older (now sadly mostly lost) Ilimatervernia, which is thought to have not only incorporated the voyage of Silas, but may have provided further tellings of the later years of Ilimater’s reign. Little is known of her reign outside of these writings, as few artifacts from this time still exist. What is known is she was a just ruler, who helped to create a fairly stable kingdom. Often terracized as “Illmater”.

Cibel: The daughter of Ilimater and Silas and the second Queen of Quinox. Cibel seems to have been responsible for expending the city which her parents had helped to create. This included what apparently was the addition of two more clans into the existing kingdom: the Pasai and the Ral. There doesn’t seem to be much more to note, apart from the fact that she is the first queen for which there is a fairly large number of archeological objects from as well as the event for which she is most well known: The Dreaming of Worlds. Cibel, through means which is still debated to this day, though the common (and most likely) cause was intervention through The Six and her own innate powers, found herself one evening to become astrally linked to Masela of Zephrius and Alethena of Aeolus, allowing them to become aware of each other for the first time. Though it would take another several hundred years before it was possible for actual travel between the planet and the moons, this counts as the first time the three civilizations create some form of link between their societies. This story is covered in Scrolls 150-157, as well as the Zephrian Song Cycle Soren le Fuseldo and the Aeolen poem The Dream Path. Her name is terracized as Cybele, while the Zephrians called her Sefela and the Aeolians Fibesta.

Isas: One of the most well known Queens and one of the first to gain real prominence within the history books beyond myth and legend, Isas’ reign was most taken up by what would come to be known as the First Clan War. While much of it’s origins tended to be shrouded in rumor and guesswork (the most notable record of it’s early years can be found in Sen’ra Isas by the sage Torsa), it is known that it mostly start off with peaceful attempts at united the various clans in the immediate area into a greater political unit. Eventually, however, she came into conflict with another group of clans lead by the Borensai, who claimed lineage from the same clan who destroyed the original Mysn clan. The war would go on for nearly ten years, ending with the Battle of the Great Shore, from which the Borensai confederation collapsed in on itself and Isas was finally able to incorporate the clans under a proper ailliance. While she did not have rulership over the entire planet, her political power extended over a vast majority of it. In memory of this, she commissioned a song which would come to be known as the “Tal’so Fa’Quinox”, a call for eternal peace and friendship, which would sometimes be known as the unofficial anthem for Quinox itself. The latter half of her reign would be fairly quiet as she consolidated her new alliances. While there is a great deal of information about the war itself, these peaceful years were surprisingly little recorded. It has been suggested that many of the old roads of Quinox had origins in information networks that Isas had ordered to make travel between areas easier, though these would have been fairly crude. This would lead Isas to sometimes be given the epithet of “Isas of the People”. Often is Terracized as Isis.

Gaisa: In many ways one of the most important Queens of Quinoxian history, Gaisa was a ruler who reigned over a period of great change for Quinoxian society. For the most part, much of her rule had inherited the peace which had been settled by her mother during the latter part of her reign, barring a final consolidation of power, finally bringing the entire planet of Quinox under her rule. While this in itself is monumentious, it would be her offspring which would become the subject of legend and stories across the planet. The Ten Daughters of Gaisa, through the planning of their mother, would in turn change the face of what Quinox had been before, becoming what historians often described as the founders of the modern Quinoxian society. While her eldest would inherit the throne and in turn bring about what would later become one of the most important changes to Quinox since it’s founding, the others would also have their own part to play in this rapidly changing society. Her second oldest, Ny’isha, due to the death of the final members of the high priesthood of the Mysn Clan, would take over the role, establishing a blood line of priests and priestess which would continue to this day. The third daughter, Herku’ra, known for her aggressiveness and outspoken personality, would become the sire of the bloodline which would produce the legendary Knight of Quinox. Each of these daughters would become popular characters in folklore and local legend, their tales most noteworthy collected by the author D'aneth Sit'son in the book “GaishaDanra”. The only other thing of note for this ruler is the length of her rule, second only to Minerva in terms of length. Often is Terracized as Gaisha.

Patrisa: The eldest daughter of Gaisa II, Patrisa would in turn become one of the most important figures in Quinoxian history. While her early rule was for the most part fairly without incincident, it would be a dream which would soon shake the foundations of the entire planet. According to history as well as popular legend, Patrisa would by visited by the vision of a great crystal, calling upon her to fight for it. It would be soon after that the first outsider would land upon the planet, representatives of the world of Neptune. Through an unknown incident, the nature of which would be continual be debated for centuries, Neptune and Quinox would descend into conflict, resulting in the War of the Loadstone. Through various events of which will not be covered in this entry, Patrisa would eventually win the conflict with the backing of Saturn and Pluto, claiming the power of the crystal for her world and eventually commissioning the Great Temple to house it. Patrisa would shortly after travel to the great Kingdom of the Moon, presenting herself as the ruler of world of Quinox and presenting an offer to unity with the great Lunar Empire. While many of the other worlds would interperet this as placing Quinox under it's power, the planet and historians of Quinox themselves would present this more as a standing of equals, a conflict of views which would later cause an issue later on in history. The latter half of Patrisa's rule would see a blossoming of trade both economic and cultural, which would lead in what would later be called "The Golden Age of Quinox". Many stories of Patrisa's actions during the war were told and retold, most notibly the epic prose piece known as "The War Queen".

Isabela: If there is one ruler who would be named the most beloved of all of them, Isabela would certainly be at the highest point of the list. Born shortly after the end of the War of Light, Isabela was raised during a period of great change for the planet.
