History
Early Life
Usagi Tsukino was born on June 30th, 200X. Growing up in Tokyo, Usagi lived with her parents as well as her younger brother Shingo. She had a fairly normal childhood by all appearances and at some point, befriended Naru Osaka and Yumiko, all three of them attending Juuban Middle School together. However, all this would change when the girl turned thirteen.
Princess of the Moon
One day coming home from school, Usagi happened to discover a small cat being bullied by a group of children. Saving the animal, she thought little of it until she got home, after which she encountered the cat once more. The feline, named Luna, revealed not only that she was able to talk but also gave Usagi the means to transform into Sailor Moon, a magical girl warrior! After defeating a monster who had taken the form of her friend Naru’s mother, Sailor Moon also encountered a mysterious figure known only as Tuxedo Mask. As the days went by, Usagi would meet more foes, as well as friends alike: the genius girl Ami Mizuno aka Sailor Mercury, who had nearly fallen prey to an attempt to use cram schools to drain human energy; the cold but kind Rei Hino, who worked at a shrine that was near a mysterious road where bus passengers were kidnapped and the gentle giant Makoto Kino, who became a target of a monstrous bride controlled by the enemy. As the team of guardians seemed to be complete, Luna revealed to the girls the true nature of their mission, of how they were to find and protect the Moon Princess, as well as the Silver Crystal. It didn’t take very long for them to accomplish their first task, as the Princess seemed to make her presence known to the others. However, not all was as it seemed. Eventually it would be revealed that the Princess they thought they were guarding was in fact a fake, her true identity being Sailor Venus, the last of the Inner Guardians. Usagi also learned that she was actually the real Moon Princess, her memories being restored after Tuexdo Mask (in fact Mamoru Chiba, a high school boy she had fallen in love with) was fatality injured. With the truth revealed to them all, Usagi and the other guardians soon learned the entire story of their origins, of the fallen Moon Kingdom, of Queen Beryl and Metellia and of the latter’s soon to be resurrection. After a trip to the Moon itself in order for Sailor Venus to retrieve the Moon Sword, the team headed off to face Beryl in her hidden base. So it was, Sailor Moon and the Guardians finally meeting Queen Beryl face to face…only for a small pink girl dressed in a Sailor Guardian uniform to fall from the sky in front of them. After trading a few insults, the little girl pulled out a small wand and proceeded to blow Beryl away, as well as destroying Metellia in the process. The girl introduced herself as Chibi-Usa and proclaimed herself the girls’ new princess, leaving Usagi more then a little non-plussed by the whole thing. With nothing better to do, Usagi decided to return back to her normal teenage life, this time with a brand new boyfriend in the mix!
The Foes from the Future
The peace wouldn’t last long, as a new group of enemies made their appearance known, This group, the Black Moon Clan, came from the future, seeking out “the rabbit” as well as the silver crystal. Usagi, much to her distress, was unable to prevent Ami, Rei and Makoto from being kidnapped by a UFO and was only able to stop Minako from being taken, defeating the Ayakashi Sisters in the process. Their leader, Rubius, finally made his presence known, ready to destroy Sailor Moon as well as the other guardians, only for Chibi-Usa to appear, revealing herself to be the original target of the Black Moon Clan. Using her own Silver Crystal, Chibi-Usa summoned another Sailor Guardian and dropped her through the UFO, killing Rubius in the process, before leaving once again.
Usagi Tsukino would later learn the new Sailor Guardian, Matsumi Shin, was now attending Juuban Middle School. Seeing that the girl was feeling fairly lost and depressed, Usagi made a great effort to befriend the girl and helped her with moving into Makoto’s apartment.
School of Doom!!
One day, Usagi and her friends meet up at the arcade, Usagi’s friends wanting her to try out the latest game. While there, Usagi soon met a mysterious high school student, a boy named Haruka Tenou along with his girlfriend Michiru Kaioh. Not long after, Usagi along with the other girls witnessed a creature emerge from a high school student’s body. Managing to defeat it, the guardians learned the student had originally come from Mugen Academy, a school for geniuses and the wealthy. Wanting to investigate more, Usagi, along with Matsumi volunteered to infilitare the school, donning disguises to do so. The girls, however, didn’t get very far into their investigation, before Chibi-Usa once again made her presence known, walking out of the school with another girl, as well as the head of the academy. Chibi-Usa explained that the girl was Hotaru Tomoe aka Sailor Saturn, another sailor guardian, while the head of the academy was Hotaru’s father, who Chibi-Usa had “befriended”. With nothing more to do, much to Usagi’s brief irritation, the girls once again returned back home.
Not long after, Luna revealed her humanoid form, having decided to abandon her cat self for the time being. Usagi was more than a bit amused to discover Luna was also a year younger than her, now seeing her more like a little sister than the guardian she had originally been.
Usagi would somehow miraculariously pass her school exams and join Ami, Makoto, Minako, Haruka and Michiru at Juuban High School.
The Things Dreams are Made Of
Not long after her first day at high school, Usagi would witness along with the other girls a total solar eclipse. The event was only interrupted shortly after by Chibi-Usa showing up with her new boyfriend as well as a few new friends, who she introduced as her own guardians.
Usagi currently still attends Juuban High School with the other girls, enjoying her teenage life to the fullest as well as her “miracle fairy tale romance”.
Personality
Usagi Tsukino is happiness and sunshine epitomized. Friendly and caring, Usagi is always there for her friends and willing to help out at a moment’s notice…as long as it doesn’t involve school work. Usagi does have a serious side, though it only comes out when her friends are in trouble. She is somewhat obsessed with her super happy miracle romance and will happily bring up “Mamo-Chan” into a conversation at the drop of a hat. While somewhat childish, she isn’t overtly selfish, willing to look out for others if they need her help. The fact that she is no longer the leader of the Sailor Guardians is somewhat of a sore spot for her but she usually tries to not think about it too much and at times fully forgets about the fact.
