Venus is the second planet in the Sol system, between Mercury and Earth, and is covered by a cloud layer of sulfur dioxide and sulfuric acid. It is the only major planet in the system to take the name of a female figure, and its day is longer than its year.

In Roman mythology, Venus is the goddess of love, beauty, and fertility. Sailor Venus is also a senshi of love, and resembles Botticelli's Venus, who appears in a clam shell, with her long blonde hair. Her attacks center around love and beauty, such as "Love and Beauty Shock" and "Rolling Heart Vibration."

Historically the planet Venus originated from outside the solar system, entering the system from a strange orbit early in the solar system's formation.

Not much is known about the young planet Venus, which was on fire as it entered the solar system, however, paradoxically the planet is actually an ancient one that has undergone some form evolution before it entered the solar system.

Whatever its original origin is has been lost to time, however the beings on the planet Venus were considered to be highly advanced, and as such respected as peers by the Selenos immigrants who had also arrived on the Earth's Moon sometime prior.

It is unknown what Eldritch power the Venusians originally had, but it is clear that they and their planet have fast untapped potentials waiting to be rediscovered.
