The Shadows

Race

The Shadows were one of the First Ones, the ancient races that first arose in the universe, along with the Vorlons and the Time Lords. Their technology is bio-organic and affected by telepathy.

A dormant Shadow-Vessel--a living thing--may be reawakened if a living touches it; the Shadow-Vessel would drain its' life force.

Thanks to actions of The Tyrant The Shadows were awakened from their sleep centuries early, and some of their technology somehow found its way into a bomb that had been planted in The Hotel.

Shadow Skin

The "skin" of Shadow Vessels and ships, also found on much of their technology. It has shifting patterns similar to that of squid skin, usually in a mottled pattern, and can absorb the life force of beings that come into contact with it unprotected, especially if it has lain dormant for a long period and needs nourishment.
