Celeste Persephone Kizen
A soul once wrought with power and born from an admiration toward the unity of her foes. A woman born with power and named for the compassion she gave to those who needed hope before they were torn asunder. A loyal follower of the blade and the fist until there was a fusing. This is who our hero was.
Who she is now is an entirely different story.

Celeste
The confrontation between rei.bot and rei-bot was moving to a boil. The swords were getting further and further away from the hands of the residents of the Ten'Aino house. Indigo had been fighting for the sake of rei.bot but when she looked around her and saw the madness and lack of unity despite one or two others, she decided to willingly join Kusanagi and found the identity of Kannon Bosatsu: A woman who emulated a parody of the Deity of Compassion and Mercy. Her purpose in Steel Fist was not for violence but to act as a healer to her team.
The night where everything drew to a climax finally came and there was a fusing of the rei.bots and a fusing of the identities. At first it had seemed that Indigo had returned to normal and it was like the conflict had happened but no one was going to talk about it. The actual identity of Kannon had become an adhesive to an Indigo with an identity crisis. In trying to mend these problems and properly heal her host, Indigo went off to meditate and reconsider her desires and motivations. By accident, Haruka nudged her into the volcano that she'd decided upon using for her thoughts and Indigo fell in. One would THINK she met her demise...
For five years, Indigo had been inside the volcano. Her saving grace was the ability to transform into Sailor Io and try to find a way to escape the volcano. For years she tried and tried, but while they might be her element and accept her as one of their own, Io lacked the vast power it would take to command the earth to free her. Even with the power of volcanoes on her side the pain was excruciating and she would fade in and out of consciousness.
Some time in early 2012, a young girl decided she'd take a walk and seek out something that was far beyond anything she'd dreamed. Using powers that did not belong to her and never should have, she managed to extract the soul of a god that she had heard of in rumors and whispers. It was not what she was looking for and so she discarded it: there was no way it could serve her now.
The girl was left sleeping until a nearby mountain exploded. To this day Celeste doesn't understand what happens.
On May 29th, "Indigo" had found herself in Japan and hearing vague rumor of the strangers who frequented this hotel. She found the people she had known for so long and acclimated herself to this new setting. There were a few odd things that stood out with her: for someone who had been trapped in a volcano for years, Indigo was oddly well functioning and there was something very different about how she carried herself. It wasn't until some time later in August when she could no longer transform into Sailor Io that something was wrong. With the help of Yaijinden she came to understand her identity; the soul once identified as Kannon Bosatsu had splintered and become her own person and that was the Indigo who was outside of the volcano. They recovered the Indigo within the volcano and helped her to recover. To fully solidify her own identity, she took on the name Celeste Persephone Kizen as her own.
Celeste and Persephone
On the one hand, Celeste was blissfully unaware of the events of the Successor Idol challenge, passing the time with the other captives in a simulated reality wherein only a handful of hours had passed since the 'games' began. On the other hand, at the end of those few hours, she discovered that she had a clone who had endured a countless duration of separation from her husband, and that clone had been spared agonizing death only because her beloved loved this woman as much as he loved Celeste herself.
It was not an easy unity. Her soul-clone, who soon began calling herself Persephone Celeste, was brittle, testy, and suspicious as a result of years (decades? centuries?) spent in isolation; Celeste, for her part, saw in Persephone a reversion to her old psychic habits as Indigo, and was reluctant to open herself to the other woman. Both were jealous of the other. Yaijinden's active mediation was needed to bring the two together in a sort of alliance, focused initially on providing shared care for their daughter Faye, then expanding over time to productive cohabitation. They have since become their own people: Persephone is the active hunter mom securing the livelihood for her family, and Celeste is the nurturing soul providing safety and stability, with Yaijinden continuing to mediate and highlight the two in his own weird way.
Trivia
- In August of 2015, Celeste gave birth to Riley, the first accidental addition to their family. (Persephone was tremendously grateful that she was not the one to endure the travails of pregnancy.)
