A Sad Past
Born in December 29th, 1885, Lynne travelled to California with her father, mother and baby brother, hoping to create a new life for themselves. Settling in the town of Lode, her life was a quiet but happy one until one day Lode was attacked by the forces of a corrupt military colonal. Catching the eye of the criminal, Lynn was chosen for his "special attentions" but managed to escape, scarring the man with a boiling grease. In retaliation, the man shot her, as well as her family, leaving the small girl for dead. While her family may have indeed been killed, the townsfolk discovered that she had barely survived and nursed her back to health, the child swearing revenge against the man who had destroyed her life.
At some point, Lynne met a rogue asian warrior named Smiley, who taught her how to use blades, as well as the secrets of the Sad Flute Clan.
Love, War and Revenge
Several years later, Yang, another runaway from the Sad Flute Clan, arrived in Lode, carrying with him an infant child that he had saved from a clan purge that he had taken part in. Lynne took a liking the young man, who she nicknamed Skinny and the small baby April. Teaching her more swordsmanship by her own request, the two began to form a bond which blossomed into love. Eventually Yang's fellow clan members would track him down and alongside the returning Colonal, the two would eventually defeat each other's enemies, finally fulfilling Lynne's promise of vengence against the one who tore her life apart.
After a single night of passion, Yang would leave Lynne, worried that his enemies would track her and the baby April down. Taking April, Lynne would change her last name to "Sunrise", remembering the last time she ever saw her lover, walking away in the Sunset, but believing that a new day would dawn for them both, stating: "Th' sun might be settin' here, but it's always risin' somewhere."
Lynne would never see Yang again after that.
A Mother to the End
Lynne soon after would learn that she was carrying Yang's child and wanting to make sure she was safe, travelled away from Lode, making her way to Texas. (NOTE: check with X before this next part).
Settling on a small farm, Lynne assumed a quiet and unassuming life as a farmer, raising her two daughters while Mifune continued to protect them. However, tragidty was not far behind. One day, Lynne spotted a twister on the horizon heading directly towards the ranchhouse. Thinking quickly, Lynne handed the three year old Gemini and April to Mifune and told him to hide unerneath a makeshift hiding place they had constructed in case of attack. Lynne herself tried to move the animals to saftey, but April and Gemini, fearing for their mother's life, ran out to try and catch up to her. As the twister hit, Lynne was able to throw Gemini to Mifune but was forced to shield April, who refused to leave her side.
When the dust settled, Lynne's body was found a few hundred feet by Mifune, crushed and dead but he could find no sign of April. The samurai buried the woman, promising to both protect and train Gemini in her memory.
