Ami Mizuno (as first seen in the "Nezumi Atama" Crossover Special) was born on September 10, 2002 as the Daughter of Dr. Saeko Mizuno and her divorced husband, a travelling artist.
About
She is an exceptionally smart and (originally very) shy and reclusive girl with short blue hair and a rumored IQ of ~300 who regularly leads the top ranks in school exams. Because of this nature, she was often mistaken as snobby and arrogant, which led to her getting shunned and avoided, thus ending up alone and depressed a lot. That was, until one day, the clumsy but cheerful Usagi Tsukino AKA Sailor Moon came (or better, 'burst') into her life and forced her out of her shell. It was then discovered that Ami herself had sailor powers as well, taking on the mantle of the senshi (or "warrior") of water and wisdom, Sailor Mercury, at the age of barely fourteen.
History
From there on, we can assume that her life was pretty much the same as we know it from the '90s anime version. But then, in May 2018, shortly after the battle against Sailor Galaxia and her Animamates, she got involved in an adventure she never would've imagined in her wildest dreams: Criminal aliens abused an originally well-meant technology for translocalization, or in layman's terms, 'sliding' between different dimensions/timelines/realities for pillage and personal profit. It was there she first (consciously, that is) met the equally smart alien-prince-in-disguise Em'dar AKA Rob Anderson, as well as the Evangelion pilots, the Wedding Peach Lovely Angels, the Miraculous, and several other characters from various anime franchises. Together, they were able to stop the bad guys and retrieve the stolen technology for better and more just uses. Subsequently, Ami began to have adventures in countless worlds alongside 'Robbie', and occasionally various combinations with either of the other Guardians, even meeting alternate versions of themselves in the process.
During 2019, an illegal experiment once again changed parts of her life forever, when unscrupulous scientists had stolen samples of her DNA and that of Robbie (who by that time was already anticipating the birth of his first child with his now-wife Bonnie McAllister), to, without either consent or knowledge, create a clone army of super soldiers, believing this to be a perfect mix. However, the paradox combination of Ami's water-based powers and Robbie's Force Lightning™-esque electricity proved too potentially powerful for them to control. Therefore, only a 'prototype' was made that was later passed (read: 'forced'/'dumped') upon them when that and another failed experiment left the villain's Lab in shambles. Both heroes have since agreed to !secretly! acknowledge and accept their 'unwanted' kinda-parentage. Back in her own world, after graduating from high school, Ami finally got to fulfil one of her biggest dreams of studying medicine in Germany by doing an extended internship at the Berlin Charité.
Current History
As of now (late 2024), she is a proud student at Mugen University in Tokyo. Her senshi activities have become quite a solo enterprise as her friend Rob is now heavily busy raising a family and ruling his homeworld. They keep up contact via the occasional Phone or Video Call, though...
On February 28, 2025, when she got involuntarily involved in an attempted robbery at a ramen shop loosely connected to a place called 'The Hotel', the 'long-lost son' suddenly appeared, coming to her aid, joining her at battling the crooks. Immediately after their victory, finally seeing him again in person after god-knows how long, led to her having a minor emotional breakdown which made her officially reveal that she had serious feelings for him.
Miscellaneous Trivia and Personal Achievements
- It was her who ultimately destroyed the Dark Kingdom's Black Crystal.
- She also was the one to deduct that the 'Nehelenia' who attacked her and Sailor Uranus inside the pocket dimension was fake because her hair didn't move in the wind.
- At least once, she was able to defeat an opponent on her own: A ghost going by the name of Bonsogne (she mistook her for her biggest school rival, 'Mercurius').
- She is rumored to have an IQ of ~300 or more, constantly leading the rankings lists at school exams.
- She is a talented swimmer and chess player.
- She seems to be allergic to love letters of all things, getting an actual physical reaction (skin rashes) from them.
- As of 2025, she is one of only two Guardians who can access a 'Nude Cherub' transformation when not inside Elysion, the other being Usagi Tsukino.
- This version of Ami has a distinguishing beauty mark on her right buttock.
