Salvia goes by Sylvie and is 33 years old. However, due to a strict nutrition and exercise programme, genetics, and skill with makeup, she still looks like she's in her twenties. She acts and feels like it most of the time, too. She is half, well proportioned, and slightly muscular, and considered beautiful by most people who know her. This is complimented by her clothing, as she never leaves the house without being appropriately dressed for where she's going and is the type of person one would consider well dressed when she steps into a room.

Character and Personality

Sylvie is a fun loving person who loves an adventure and taking risks. However, she can also be cold and calculating when planning something or negotiating for something she wants. She usually detaches herself from negative emotions or feelings, and likes to spend her time shopping, socializing, or clubbing. She is very attentive and good to her mother, whom she takes care of. She likes it when the people around her are happy, but can often be selfish. She'll skate around the truth when it suits her purposes, but it it's hard to catch her doing it, and she doesn't normally lie outright if she can avoid it.

Sylvie hates being bored and loves doing fun and risky things. Anything she thinks is boring will put her off, and 'nice' people often fail to keep her attention for very long. She doesn't have qualms about having connections to all kinds of people, getting what she wants, or what she may have to do to get it.

Sylvie is now a rich woman, and besides providing well for her mother, she spends most of her time shopping, finding fun things to do, and hanging out with friends. She's good at handling different social settings, knows how to behave in and navigate high society, enjoys dancing and sometimes entertaining. She is good at fencing and picking locks with bobby pins.

Background

Sylvie is half Japanese and half English. Her mother was a geisha in the 1960s—1970s, during which she met Sylvie's father. She retired in her 30s, and the two had a brief but passionate marriage. Her parents had divorced before knowing of the pregnancy.

Her father is a Baron, but not famous. She is on good terms with him, and they generally get along, although they recognize that they will never be very close. Of course, she speaks English with a British accent.

History

She grew up in her mother's care in Japan, and because Akiko didn't ask for much, they usually just managed to get along. Sylvie attended school in Japan through middle school, at which point she made personal contact with her father and was able to change their situation. She went to England to meet her father for the first time, and then went to school in England through college. However, school in Japan had not been a happy time for her, and she decided to enter her mother's previous field of work, where she knew she would learn to control a lot of things. She started this training in her mid teens, and while in England returned to Japan each break for training, while outwardly she attended the University of Oxford, majoring in English Language and Literature with a minor in psychology.

After graduating, she spent the next 9—10 years in an unknown, high-paying job, and has mostly retired from active service in 2007, moving with her mother into a house in Juuban, not far down the street from the Ten-Aino house. Although the purpose was to gather intelligence on he place, it was there that she met Brad London, and the two began a relationship sometime after his breakup with Jalissa. For the first time able to act for herself, she decided not to worrying about her job as she quickly found herself falling for Brad, even though she didn't always express it openly. This prompted her to attempt severing ties with her organisation completely, and she stopped reporting many significant developments at the house while attempting to direct her organisation's sights elsewhere, such as on a man named Owens who Brad and one of her co-workers had dealings with.

As her and Brad's relationship deepened, he also suddenly became much more complicated and interesting as "Angel," someone who had been greatly wronged in the Silver Millennium. This made things rather rocky for a while, but eventually she and Brad decided to go on with their relationship.

In March 2008, Sylvie met some pirate girls from a world called Tortall, and went off pirating with them for about a month. She returned with a small snake, Oss, as a companion, as well as a small store of riches.

Brad had just asked her to move in with him, which she was in the process of doing, when he suddenly accused her of selling him out to Torchwood and ended the relationship. She didn't fight for the relationship as she believed he wouldn't forgive her if he knew the whole truth, and with little hope for escape, accepted reassignment elsewhere and is now deeply re-entrenched in her organisation's work.

Occupations

Although little is known about what Sylvie actually did when she worked, it is known that she was an informant of some type for a non-government organisation, and then trained others to do the same thing.

The organisation she worked for was actually an underground, little talked about one that had fingers in every pot, so to speak, both gathering intelligence and handling certain types of actions that other organisations or individuals can't or won't carry out themselves, such as retrieving items or assassinations. Sylvie's mother was a member of this organisation, and she was brought up to it from a young age. She was a natural at it, and was well-trained and suited for escort-based espionage--good enough to retire early and move into training.

However, she is once again one of their top agents, and can be trusted to get the job done right the first time, whether a quick item acquire, a long game of placing herself close to someone, or a nearly untraceable hit.

Current History

In February 2008, she cut most her ties with this organisation and accepted an invitation to go pirating with Lantune and Maeko in the waters of Emelan/Tortall, and was away doing this through most of March. At the moment, she may exhibit a somewhat relaxed sense of style, as well as some behavior she picked up while pirating.

Although she disappeared shortly after Brad London broke up with her, Sylvie was actually contacted by an old friend around that time, has been away helping them figure out a serious underground problem. It's put her back into the underground information business, and she has returned to her former arrangement with her organisation, as well as expanding her contacts in Europe and the UK.

Other Information

General
Sylvie likes color, and some of her favorites are pink, ice blue, dusty red, and light yellow. She has a large wardrobe, and is always fashionable. She has corsets, mostly ribbon and cinchers, and will occasionally wear one as part of an outfit.

Sylvie likes most foods, but usually prefers Japanese, and is inclined to be picky when she's at home and can control what she eats. She is a nutritional eater and usually doesn't stray from her diet, although she does enjoy fine food.

She will usually listen to anything lively and outgoing, dance and eurobeat mixes, and plays her music loud.

Although she can take care of cuts and scrapes and things of that nature, she knows very little about medicine and is rather inept at knowing what do to when someone is sick. She can, however, make someone comfortable.

Sylvie and her mother lives down the street from the Ten'ou House, and has a housekeeper who is also her mother's companion.

Pets
There are several cats in the house, and Sylvie keeps various snakes. She has green snakes, a grass snake, garter snake, corn snake, and a California kingsnake.
She also has a rather unusual snake from Tortall, named Oss. Oss is purple with a gold underbelly and emerald eyes.
She'd love to have a boa or python, but they generally require two people to handle them.

Akiko

Akiko does not go out much and usually only leaves the house when necessary. She will at times accompany the housekeeper shopping. She was injured in a hit-and-run accident when Sylvie was a girl, and so has a limp. She cannot sit with her legs underneath her; their house has western style beds, bathrooms, and chairs. Akiko studies literature and practices calligraphy. She has beautiful writing and Sylvie has set up an online store for her, from which she makes a moderate amount of money.
