A series of strange time glitches occuers, causing a group of changes to happen revolving around the parents of the senshi. Tracing them back to 1971, Sakura Xadium Aino and Arataka Wyldsord travel back in time, arriving in Harada Airport, where the first of the timeline deviations seem to have originated. The two witness a figure trying to prevent a young Megan Smithson (then Megan Jonsson) from taking the taxi to what would be her house as a transfer student. During the struggle, Sakura is shocked to discover the familer form of Silicon Momoko, but the version from her own Earth! Momoko declares that she will fix the timeline before escaping. After giving the young Megan a few words of encouragement, Sakura helps the teenager to her new home but decides that she and Arataka will watch for the shadows, for the moment when Momoko will show up again.
A few days later, Sakura detects Momoko's return and has Arataka try to head her off. The target location ends up being a small shrine in Meguro City, where she finds a disguised Momoko (dressed as a miko) talking with a teenage girl, trying to convince her to make up with her father. Arataka reports back to Sakura through her communicator and through some quick research on what she knows, realizes the teenager is Risa Hino. Risa had had a falling out with her father over the running of the shrine and her mother, in order to prevent further conflict, had sent her daughter to stay with a family friend to help run their shrine in Meguro. The next day is the day that Megan is suppose to meet Risa for the first time but if she forgives her father, she'll head home that very night, thus missing the chance to meet. Sakura realizes to her horror what she has to do to preserve the timeline and is stricken with indecision on the matter. Sensing her emotions, Arataka takes the initiative, knocking out one of the other mikos and butting into the conversation. She reminds Risa of all the things her father had done and said before, re-opening the emotional wounds that Risa had forgotten about. Momoko tries to interfere but Risa, now angry once more, rebuffs the other woman. Momoko, furious is about to attack, but Arataka manages to strike first, knocking out Risa at the same time. Arataka and Momoko continue their fight, the two using their blades against each other but Arataka is able to slash the other girl in the side, who quickly retreats. Arataka carefully places Risa back in her room so that she'll wake without notice. Sakura thanks Arataka for what she did but is worried about having to face a choice like that again.
The months past and things stay quiet, unnerving Sakura a bit. Arataka continues to shadow the teenagers, getting to know them more in the process. Out of boredom, Sakura takes a few missions with the Japanese branch of UNIT, leaving Arataka to fend for herself. This pissed off Arataka because Sakura told her she was going out for a moment to get some Milk and did not return for weeks. When pressed, Sakura replied it was better than going out for cigarettes and never returning at all. Arataka was not convinced. Partally out of frustration, Arataka gets involved in a hostage situtation one day involving one Arisu Umisato and Keiko Obana, who are kidnapped by a teenage member of the terrorist group Panather Claw, Iron Lynx. While she is able to free the two ( with Arisu being sonewhat beligerent the entire time), the mysterious Cutey Honey shows up to fight Lynx, reveling in the process to be her classmate, Akane, much to her shock. Honey is about to perform the killing blow but Arataka convinces her to spare Lynx, who is obviously conflicted on her actions, allowing the teens to make peace with each other, Arataka leaving soon after.
Sakura, meanwhile, begins to notice occurances of certain related individuals beginning to show up in the timeline and becomes disturbed by this as this should not be happening.
Summer approuches and a special cross-school summer camp is announced. Sakura is confused by this, as she was certain this did not happen until late 1972 but sends Arataka to follow Megan and Risa to the camp. There Arataka spots Momoko disguised as a camp official who begins to pick the groups by which the students will be paired up with for the rest of the camp. She quickly realizes (having spotted them eariler among the other students), that she means to prevent the other mothers from being part of the group that Risa and Megan are suppose to be assigned to. Quickly disguisng herself as a fellow student, Arataka makes enough of a scene to confuse Momoko and quickly gets one of the other camp officials to put the proper group together.
Watching over the girls from a distance and off and on fighting with Momoko whenever she tries to interfere, Arataka listens to their hopes and dreams and watches their friendship deepen. At the same time, she grows fond of the teenagers and finds herself wishing to protect their precious bonds with all her heart.
As the year came to a close, Arataka was soon distressed to discover the girls having been kidnapped. Tracking them down by their life patterns and joined by Sakura, the two discovered the teenagers tied up and gagged with Momoko now threatening to use a de-mat gun to erase them from existance in a last desperate attempt to fix the timeline. However, Arataka was quickly able to take down the cyborg, destroying the gun. However, before Sakura and Arataka could take her in, they were suddenly teleported away.
