Sisterhood of Karn

The Sisterhood of Karn is a highly advanced Time-Active civilization. Once closely affiliated with their peers in the Time Lords, their esoteric, individualized methodology as well as their interest in mysticism and psychic phenomenon displeased the great Rassilon, who ordered their exile from the planet of Gallifrey. The Sisterhood, after drawing on their collective precognitive powers, opted not to fight a bloody civil war that would do unimaginable damage to both orders, and retreated to their new home on the planet Karn.

The Sisterhood is even more reclusive than the Time Lords, content to tend their mysterious Sacred Flame, never more than indirectly intervening in the fate of the Galaxy. Their charge is a holy and true one, and the Sisterhood will not hesitate to use their tremendous power to protect their world and the Flame.

After the Time War, the Sisterhood regained their ancient stature and powers, reverting to their mental heights at the end of the Old Time, and they have also learned and perfected Time Lord regenerative sciences, even though they themselves do not use them.

Individuals have to undergo intensive self-awareness training similar in may ways to the Bene Gesserit order but to an even greater level of mastery. They have the power to scry through Time and Space, and exhibit strong psychic and telekinetic power, which is amplified if they work together as a group. They can sense the approach of beings millions of miles away in space and make them see illusions / cloud their thoughts (for example making a ship crash by making the pilots think they are hitting one switch instead of another) and some are even pyrokinetic, with the ability to cause a being to partially combust through thought alone. Others have used nothing but the power of their mind to literally flay their attackers alive.

Paisley Pythia Peinforte is, despite being human, a member of their order -- perhaps the most visually prominent, after her most recent immersion in the Sacred Flame.
