Seishin Island location

History

Seishin Island had been most uninhabited until at least the Momoyama period, when the island was discovered by accident by a storm tossed ship. Additional ships would arrive, bringing with them a small number colonists. However, due to the size of the island and it's location, any further attempts of inhabitation failed outside two small villages, though the Japanese government did continue to acknowledge it as their territory. Ships would continue to buy supplies but it would not be until the 1920s that the island gained some importance. Deciding to move forward with a plan to expand on the Capitol Defense Program, members of said group chose the island as the location for their new school, which was to be used to create a new generation of Spirit Warriors, making a deal with the inhabitants in the process. However, the plan ultimatly failed, though a few buildings were built.

The island would be left to it's own devices until the 21st century, when Matsumi Kaze discovered it's existance in old records held by the Council of Elders. At first only using it as a training facility for the Rising Valkyrie Unit, she soon became interested in reviving the planned school. Around this time, she also became aware of the Japanese government deciding to pull out of the island, leaving the villages to their own devices. Deciding to step in, Matsumi took over the island with the help of Sunnyside, who stepped in to help financially secure the location. It is currently the location of the Shin Acadamy.

Government

Formally maintained by the Japanese Government, the island is now run by Matsumi Kaze, who formally acts as "Daimyo" of the Island.
