Ran's Early Life

Ran is the son of a foreign father and a Japanese woman. Ran’s father was abusive towards his mother, and when Ran was born he left the two of them. Ran’s mother realized that her baby had the same face of the man she hated, and grew to hate the child. On the surface, she was a good mother, but whenever Ran cried she would hit him until he stopped. Ran’s injuries were never visible to outsiders, and no one suspected what was going on until one day when Ran had just turned two. He was having a bad headache and was crying, but his mother refused to come in and tend to him. Suddenly, all of the electrical wiring in the home burst out of the walls, causing a massive fire. Ran’s mother was caught in the flames and died. The firefighters rescued Ran from the home and brought him to an orphanage.

At the orphanage, Ran was extremely distrustful of the women in charge and was prone to frequent temper tantrums. During one tantrum when he was five, Ran was taken away from the other children and put in the discipline room. While he was in there, he had a bad headache again, and the electrical wires once again burst from the walls, causing a fire. This time, though, Ran teleported outside the room and ran away before collapsing.

Ran woke up in a hospital. He greeted by a man with glasses in scrubs who introduced himself as Dr. Kyle. Dr. Kyle told Ran that he was away from the bad place forever, and away from bad people forever, and that this would be his new home where he would be safe.

Ran spent most of his life after that in the hospital, being cared for by the staff. Gradually he began to get over his fear of women. The staff took a great liking to him and started to train him in how to use his telekinetic powers. Dr. Kyle also gave Ran a special medicine that he said would make Ran more powerful and into a very special person. When Ran was twelve he went into surgery to have the orichalcum wings implanted into him. However, complications arose and Ran was only able to accept one wing. Because of that, Ran was branded a Three-Leaf Clover: not quite perfect, but still acceptable.

Current Events

Ran has grown up mostly in isolation. While he's very smart, he's got a childlike vocabulary and still retains most of his childlike innocence. His social skills are very lacking as well. He's been enrolled in CLAMP Gakuen as a first year high school student, but has to take supplemental lessons.

For Christmas, Ran became the part owner of a calico kitten named Alice.
