Matsuo Shin and The Ancient Isle
Matsuo Shin and The Ancient Isle is the first story in the continuing adventures of Matsuo Shin.
Summary
Matsuo's first discovery dealt with the island of Kaguya and the ruins found there. While poking around the ruins of the Aratuka Empire, Matsuo discovered a small stone statue of a woman holding a moon, a symbol he recognized as belonging to the Early Selano period of the solar system. Excited by this, Matsuo vowed to explore the rest of the remains. Soon enough, he found a hidden chamber containing what best could be described as a "Rosetta Stone:" a tablet with sentences both in the original Aratukan as well as in old Lunar, a language Matsuo could easily understand. Matsuo eventually, via a description written in one tomb, discovered the existence of a hidden area of the ruins, located near the Jewel Pools on the island. Following the instructions he had translated from the tomb, Matsuo unlocked the hidden crypt and eventually passed all the hidden dangers inside. However, it took the deductive powers of Jack Dinsdale, as well as the help of Potamos, to discover the true secret hidden there: a room of solid gold and jewels. However, in the end, it was decided among the three to leave the room as it was. They eventually escaped the tomb via an unknown portal, leaving Dinsdale with a bigger mystery to solve...
