Ashalan

The Ashalan are an ancient race of immortals hailing from a place and time on Earth known as the Burning Sands. Custom holds that the Ashalan people shared twelve souls between them, and were there to behold the creation of Earth. Only cast down from its domination by the movements and curses of Lady Sun for all their accomplishments, though, the Ashalan race died out in the years of the Silver Millennium, thousands of years before modern civilization.

Masters of old and powerful arts, the greatest contribution the Ashalan made to the rest of the world was the development of crysteel, a non-ferrous material capable of channeling both sacred energy and ki, with additional highly-useful properties against khadi.

Sakura Xadium Aino stepped back in time to learn how to produce crysteel, likely for use against the khadi Yaijinden in the event of his betrayal, and spent decades in an Ashalan apprenticeship.
