Translocalization, or in simpler terms, 'Sliding' (as in the eponymous, popular SciFi-TV series from the 1990s), is the act of Travelling back and forth inbetween different Dimensions, alternate Timelines or Parallel/Quantum Unverses. It is usually accomplished by the use of a piece of technology, like e. g. a TARDIS or any other kind of (Space/-)Time Machine, a portable device (i. e. a remote control or pair of scissors) or, much rarer, by sheer willpower/psychic abiities of the Traveller. The transition is either instantly or connected to the Opening of some kind of tunnel and/or vortex you would have to pass through to get on the other side.

People who experienced the latter may report of potentially life-changing impressions of colour and beauty, as expressed by Daniel Kakaku.
