The Secret History

This is a Secret History, known only to the Royal Queens of the Silver Milennium, hidden from even the princesses, Sailor Senshi, sailor knights, and civilians of the Silver Millennium. Sourced from The Book of the War, written by Queen Izumi of Nemesis, I now endeavor to share these facts with permission from the surviving members of the royalty.

The Rise of The Tenth

By the reign of the ninth Moon Queen, Moon Kingdom had proven itself to become much more controlling of its courts. While maintaining somewhat from the façade, the Ninth made several moves to consolidate her power. Fearing the influence that could possibly have with the outer courts, she had lured in the royal family of Saturn, and quietly had them culled, though at the time she knew not of the queen's children being rescued to Earth, putting a puppet government in place. Due to their own waning connection with the planetary power, she instigated the blue moon experiments on Mercury in an effort to find artificial and technological alternatives, resulting in the "disappearance" of many volunteers. (Author's Note: the original text is very unclear on why their powers were waning. On interview, it was noted that there has been some connection to the presence of Nemesis, although the Queen of Nemesis denied that it was as straightforward as that.) With the birth of her eldest daughter, who would become the Tenth, the Ninth immediately began grooming her for rulership. The birth of her second, who proved to be a quiet, shy, and introverted girl, would only embolden her to favor her first. When the Tenth came of age, she was named co ruler; however, the Ninth soon realized her daughter's high ambitions. Her dark charismatic personality soon drew many of her mother's fellow rulers to her side. She soon gained the loyalty of the centurions of the lesser kingdoms, plying them with favors and promises of power. Soon she took more and more authority away from her mother, until the day the Ninth contracted a rare disease and perished, leaving the Tenth the sole ruler. The Tenth, while charismatic, lacked her mother's mask of kindness, her ambition plain to see. She also began to shower rewards upon favorites, including Nehelenia, princess of a small minor kingdom on the dark side of the moon. Many of her actions alienated the younger princesses of the other kingdoms, as she favored their older parents. Her rulership thus became more erratic and iron fisted. (Author's Note: Selenity X could best be described as a combination of Richard II (arrogant, a belief in divine absolutism, showering favors upon favorites in court) and Commodious (self-centered, dangerously delusional, governing for the sake of self-interest)).
