Early Life
Risa Hino was born the only child of the head of the Hikawa Shrine. Part of the Hino family, a matriartical line for whom the husbands would adopt the surnames of their wives, often for the prestige attached. From an early age, Risa showed a great psychic gift, though her unearthly abilities at first pushed many people away, hampering her socialization skills. After an unknown incident, of which the woman has no memory of, Risa became much more open, though still somewhat firey in personality. At the age of ten, Risa took on the traditional duties of a miko at the shrine.

A Troubled Future
At some point, Risa Hino met a young man named Takeshi through an arraigned marriage plan. She fell in love with the aloof young man, having had a vision of something wonderful to come from their matrimony. While early on their marriage was a happy one, Takeshi Hino's ambitions, as well as the connections he began to make due to his wife's name began to consume him. None the less, Risa bore this with controlled dignity, though her occasional focused temper would frighten the young man. It would be not long after that she would bore Takeshi their only child, a daughter named Rei. This moment of happiness, however, was short lived. Risa began to suffer from dizzy spells as well as moments of weaknesses. While she had always been somewhat sickly even as a child, these incidents became more and more frequent. Risa soon began to realize that her own psychic abilities were slowly killing her, her use of them feeding off her own life bit by bit. Though Takeshi knew that this would eventually kill her, he chose not to seek any help for her, fearing that doing so would somehow dull her abilities. None the less, she continued to use her gifts to assist her husband in his political career. Eventually, Risa's state became bad enough that she was forced to spend her days in hospital, with her daughter being her only visitor. On her final day of life, Risa realized that Rei had been the wonderful thing she had foreseen and attempted to help her daughter to understand her own future, but too weak, she passed away with her precious treasure by her side.
A New Lease on Life
This would have been the end of her story if not for a single woman. When the original version of Naoko Meioh, desiring to prove herself superior to her "daughter", sought to create conflict between the Earth mothers of the Sailor Senshi and their Silver Millennium mothers. Realizing that the Silver Milleniers had her beat by sheer numbers, Naoko gathered the Dragon Balls, wishing Risa as well as Kino Hanako and Tomoe Keiko back to life, as well as restoring them to their physical prime. Forced to face off against her counterpart in the form of Lady Nike, as well as take part in a "sports festival", the Earth Mothers soon won out in what turned out to be a friendly match. Now recognizing how far her husband had fallen, Risa had no interest into returning to the life she had lead, though this potentially leaving her out in the streets. Rei Hino, not wanting to lose her mother a second time however, offered to Risa the chance to live with her and her husband, an offer she accepted happily.
Risa currently lives at Hikawa Shrine, taking up her former occupation.
