Early Life

Hanako Fujimori was born the only child of the head of the Fujimori Dojo in Yamatokoriyama. Having lost her mother at a young age, Hanako was raised by her father. Showing a natural talent for martial arts, she none the less was far more interested in far more feminine ventures such as flower arranging and cooking, something which frustrated her father to no end. The bubbly and cheerful Hanako thus found herself torn between what her father wished for her and what she wished to do. After an unknown incident in her youth, Hanako came to understand that she could be herself and was able to make peace with her father's own wishes.

Eventually Hanako would meet and fall in love with the man who would later be known as "Papa Kino", a man who shared her love of life. Soon enough, Hanako would give birth to their daughter Makoto, who they would dote upon with as much love as possible. Hanako especally would share with her her love for baking, while the family would often take trips out to the countryside.

A Life Cut Short

Hanako and her husband would sometimes take plane trips together, though often leaving Makoto behind, who would stay with her grandfather (Papa Kino's father). On one such occasion, the two allowed for Makoto to watch their plane take off. It was at this point that something went wrong and much to the horror of their daughter, the plane crashed, instantly killing her two parents aboard. Hanako's final thoughts were those for her family.

A New Chance

However, this would not be the end of Hanako's journey. When the original version of Naoko Meioh, desiring to prove herself superior to her "daughter", sought to create conflict between the Earth mothers of the Sailor Senshi and their Silver Millennium mothers. Realizing that the Silver Milleniers had her beat by sheer numbers, Naoko gathered the Dragon Balls, wishing Hanako as well as Hino Risa and Tomoe Keiko back to life, as well as restoring them to their physical prime. Hanako herself was summoned back to life screaming, as her last memory was that of the plane crashing. Forced into a competition, Hanako had the easiest time of them all, since her counterpart, Shinju of Jupiter, had not been resurrected. After the events ended quite peacefully, Hanako was invited to live with her daughter, a chance that the woman happily accepted.

Hanako currently lives with Makoto and Motoki.

Trivia

  • Compared to her daughter, Hanako's has far greater physical strength, able to lift a bouldier with ease. She's very self conscious about her strength though.
  • Hanako was involved in an incident as a youth which changed the outlook of her life. She has no memory of what occurred, however.
  • Due to the second wish on the Dragon balls, Hanako appears to be in her mid-20s.
  • Hanako has been described as being a bit of a "cloud cuckoolander" in her youth. While she has still a bubbly outlook on life, she has become much more down to earth in her adult life.
  • Unlike her fellow Earth Moms, she has yet to meet her Silver Millenium counterpart
  • Hanako has chosen to keep her husband's surname, as she feels it to be her lasting connection with him.
  • Hanako is the heir to the Fujimoto School of Martial Arts and is an expert in Karate as well as Judo.
