Ea is a world that existed in a Sub-Universe. Tohtah Rhea hails from this world. It was destroyed the day Rhea was sent to Earth-1337-A with Sean Collins.

History of Ea

Ea (pronounced "ee-ah") is a lone planet in what is a "dead" sub-solar system. Once, it had many planets that orbited the star with various and unique alien lifeforms. History spoke of two entities that lived in this system:

  • Lohanna: The divine. The embodiment of all things good and light.
  • The Moh: The consumer. The embodiment of all things negative and dark.

The Moh resented all life, and sought to consume it. Lohanna sought to preserve life. The two powers clashed, evenly matched. One day, the Moh discovered that it could gain power by invoking negative emotions on the living creatures on the various worlds. With fear, anger, and hatred, it grew strong enough to overpower Lohanna and consume the worlds in the system until all life and planets were annihilated.

With all life destroyed, Lohanna lamented. The Moh then sought to consume new worlds. Lohanna did not wish for the same tragedy to befall another system. Lohanna fought the Moh again. Without life to give it strength from negative emotions, the Moh weakened. Lohanna used the remains of the other worlds to build a prison for the Moh. A single small planet with no life, and Lohanna would use its power to keep the Moh contained.

The Moh would not be denied. To counter Lohanna, the Moh saturated the heart of the planet with its essence, forcing the soils to give rise to a new form of life: the children of Moh. With these children, the Moh would feed off their fear, anger, and hatred and gain strength and power to break free. Lohanna saw through this plot, but refused to kill the children because Lohanna cherished life. Instead, Lohanna filled their hearts with warmth and light to counter their negative feelings. The children were taught of positive and negative feelings, and how they can affect each other, and their world. The world was named Ea. Lohanna taught the children that their fates lay in their hands. To allow the Moh, the darkness within, to consume them, it would mean their own destruction. The children took to Lohanna's teachings, promising to never allow the Moh to consume their hearts, and Lohanna blessed them with its Golden Flame to act as a reminder of Lohanna's cherished mission to protect them.

Geography

The planet was mostly made of hills, plains and grasslands, with some forests. The Planet had vast freshwater lakes, rivers and bays. There were no mountain ranges or saltwater oceans. The environment is mostly temperate and warm like a savanna, with rainy seasons and a few dry spells.

Biology

The Eanites

Also known as the Children of Moh, Eanites are pale skinned humanoids with long pointed ears, eyes with the various colors of fire, and hair colors reflecting the colors of Earth's oceans. The males were generally taller than the females and tend to be more aggressive. Due to living in isolation, the Eanites were not accustomed to visitation by alien beings and their world remained isolated and untouched by any outside influences. Due to living in this isolation, the population of Ea believed they were alone in the universe and that no other beings existed other than themselves, Lohanna, and the threat of the Moh.

Flora and Fauna

Though now extinct due to the destruction of the planet, some species of flora and fauna were cataloged by an impromptu visit from a wandering Time Lord;

Boorsh - Giant Locust-like creatures that would dominate the open plains. Usually standing several feet taller than the tallest Eanite, these giants would graze the vast tall grasses. Full grown adults had no fear of predators as they could easily trample or kick them to death. Their young would hatch on the edge of forests and retreat into the safety of the trees until they would eat and grow too large for the trees to hide them. They would then join the adults on the plains. Eanites would hunt the young up to their adolescent age.

Mengar - A grub-like creature that is the larval stage of the Rashal. Generally hatching about the size of an Earth Pig. These grubs would feed on shrubs and leaf litter for several months until they reached the size of a human car. They would then enter their pupa cycle.

Rashal - The Adult Beetle-like stage of the Mengar. Once hatched from the pupa, the Rashal were mighty, tough shelled creatures that no weapon on Ea could pierce. The females would dig burrows, while the males would compete for dominance and mates using their bull-like horns to ram their opponents. In death, the Eanites would prize their shells as the greatest of shields, and it was normally given as a token of honor to the strongest warrior. Their eggs were commonly harvested so that Eanites could raise their own stock of mengar for food, and the eggs themselves were also eaten.

Gresha - Large black cockroach-like predatory creatures with mandibles like a leaf-cutter ant. These beasts were primarily nocturnal and had a very violent nature. One bite could easily sever a limb, or kill a careless wanderer. Young Eanite boys would hunt these creatures as part of a coming-of-age tradition, and their families would feast upon the mighty predator, hoping it would give them strength and chase away the Moh within them. Their eggs were also prized for their nutrients and were a challenge for young Eanite girls to harvest from the protected nests, while the boys hunted the adults.

Mohgra - Large scorpion-like creatures that lurked in the waters. They would crawl along the bottom of the water beds and ambush any who were careless at the water's edge with their grasping claws and stabbing stingers. At night, they would leave the waters and hunt along the shores for prey or scavenge the kills left by the Gresha. These creatures were believed to be spawned directly from the Moh. They were greatly feared by the Eanites, and why the people never built their villages near the water's edge.

Thian - Small bottom feeding water creatures, similar to Trilobites on Earth. Due to the dangers of the Mohgra, the Eanites never became too familiar with these small lifeforms.
