Early Life

Very little is known of Minerva's past before becoming queen, as much pre-silver millennium information is wrapped up in legend and hear-say. Minerva herself has said very little as well, claiming that it was so long ago that she doesn't even think about it. What is known was she is the eldest daughter of Lakme, Queen of Quinox and had a sister named Metis. Other than this, there are merely rumors as to her past. Some have said that she was a member of a team known as the Star Paladins, along with Veruka of Uranus and Thetis of Neptune and that they acted in secret as a fighting force to protect the Outer Worlds. Other rumors dispute this and in fact suggest that she had no planetary powers, her sister Metis instead inheriting the abilities. Still others have claimed that she was always a Sailor Senshi and worked alongside the other queens as Sailor Senshi in their own rights. Whatever the case may be, it may not ever be known.

According to legend, Minerva met her husband through unusual circumstances. As a young man, Sigfried made a bet with his brother, Roland, that one of them could woo and marry one of the princesses of the Solar System. Roland chose Veruka of Uranus while Sigfried chose to try his hand at Minerva of Quinox. After many difficulties, he eventually managed to win her heart, officially becoming engaged to the headstrong princess. However, she soon learned the truth of the reasons for his courtship and in her anger, she broke off the engagement, banishing him from her sight. Having truly fallen in love with the girl, Sigfried would attempt again, this time with his full earnest heart and taking it far slower then before. After a time, Minerva once again reciprocated his feelings and resumed their engagement.

The Great Uprising

Princess Minerva would soon join the other Princesses in what came to be called The Great Uprising. For Minerva, it was said her reason was two fold: dissatisfaction with her mother's continual capitulation to the tyrannical Queen of the Moon at the time and more importantly, the death of her sister Metis, who had been assassinated by forces from the Moon. Alongside the others, she would ultimately stand with the young princess Serenity, defeating the forces of Serenity's sister as well as their own parents in the process. After this, Lakme would bow down to the pressures of her daughter as well as her people, allowing Minerva to ascend to the throne of Quinox as its queen.

Like the other royals and their allies who took part in the Uprising, Minerva was bathed in the light of the Ginzuishou, granting her near-immortality.

Queen of Quinox

During the early parts of her reign, she was forced to face down her former ally Garmus'Hel. While she at first banished him after he attempted a coup against her, he later returned with new powers, almost succeeding in taking over all the outer kingdoms. After a long battle, Minerva was able to seal him away inside an meteor, sending it far beyond the solar system.

A few years later, Serenity finally discovered the location of the long lost Saturnian royal family. Minerva soon befriended the young queen Jenn, taking her under her wing and soon becoming a very close friend to her. Not long after, Queen Necros attacked the Solar System. Minerva joined the other Queens of the Outer Kingdoms in sealing the monster away into a pocket universe.

Several hundred years later, Minerva would give birth to her twin children, the princess Matsama and the prince Matsuo. While Minerva loved both her children, Minerva became especially protective of Matsuo, due to his unusually high psychic abilities.

Abilities

Like all native born Quinoxians, Minerva is blessed with three times the strength and durability of a human, as well as the unique ability to see perfectly in the darkest of environments. Due to this, her eyes give off an unnatural glow at night.

She is blessed with the power to manipulate Aether, the Holy Air of the universe, sometimes called the burning brightness at the core of creation. This allows her to draw from the fabric of all matter, forming objects and attacks out of the "air" from which life itself comes from. She can focus this ability into specific attacks as well including:

Aether Blast: A blast of Aether energy with enough force to decimate a large city

Aether Blessing: She can heal any wound with the power of Aether

Aether Shield: A powerful shield of Aether energy that she can manipulate to guard or throw

Minerva wields the Spear of Minerva, a weapon forged for her during the Great Uprising by the forgers of Francisco using Gold Adamantine provided by Venus. The spear itself is unbreakable and can "pierce the heavens".
