Early Life
Saeko Mizuno was the second born child of Yoshiko and Nana Mizuno, after her older brother Ichiro. Born in the city of Koto, her father Yoshiko was a genius businessman who owned and operated the Mizuno Pharmaceutical Company, the third largest medical business in Japan. Her father put a lot of pressure on her to succeed, impressing on the girl the importance of education--something which she never forgot. As a young child, she would often try to tag along with her brother and his friend Go Hideki, wanting to find a respite from her parent's pressures. After an unknown incident in her youth, she found the peace of mind to stand up to her father, wanting to become her own person without the wealth of their business. When Ichiro got into a fight with their father over his intentions on using company funds for his own personal experiments, Saeko sided with her brother only for him to reject her, seeing her as nothing but a suck-up to their father. Even so, she still continued to try and keep in touch.
After her father died of cancer, she was much surprised to learn that while her brother was given full ownership of the family house, all money and ownership of the company went to her. Having no interest in the work her father did and still angry at Ichiro's treatment of her, Saeko sold her shares of the company away, keeping only the money for her mother and her to live on.
Friendships, Horrors and Love
Saeko eventually attended Koto Municipal Academy, a private school attended by the children of wealthy families. For reasons unknown, Saeko never quite fit in the school, often feeling a bit out of place and thus never really made many friends.
By chance, her school took part in a cross-school summer camp, with her class specifically chosen to represent them. As part of this, each student was matched up with one representative from one of the other schools. For Saeko’s part, she found herself soon paired with a group made up of Ikuko, Risa, Ai, Hanako, and Megan.
