Early Life
Almost nothing is known about Haruka Tenou's early life. It can be inferred that at some point she got involved in the racing world, gaining enough prestige to become a professional and gain sponsors in the process. At some point she awoke as a senshi, joining fellow sailor Senshi Michiru Kaioh, as well as gaining her talisman, the Space Sword. For either personal reasons or for the purpose of disguise to better help her mission, Haruka began to dress as a man, apparently doing so well a job that many mistook her for the other gender. For her part, Haruka herself would view her personal identity as being "both man and woman," something which she would almost constantly bring up with others.

Trivia
- Haruka wears a female uniform at Juuban High School, due to the fact that the school would not allow her to wear a male uniform (something which she had gotten away with at Mugen due to it's private school status). She was only allowed leeway in terms of gym uniforms.
