- In the original Kanto Region version, as well as the Ginga TV dub, The boy training with Kalismoru died from malnutrition (referred to as starvation in the Ginga TV dub) caused by Kalismoa's orders. in the Hoenn region dub, it was changed to a severe sickness being the result of malnutrition.
- A scene where Kalismoru declares that he'll kill Daniel as well as the victim of the week was removed from the Hoenn dub.
- In the original Kanto version, Kalismoru was referred to thrice as "Kurojin" (黒人 Black Person ), The Hoenn Dub removed the lines and replaced them with a generic insult, The Ginga TV dub uses three censors which imply that The "N" Word was in the script, but the actual word to use was "Buzzing Noise".

- In an attempt to avert controversy, another, kindly person of African-American descent was added whose son, incidentally, was killed in the same way by Kalismoru. In the Hoenn Dub, both characters were changed to White.
- In the Hoenn Dub, all original death references, as well as the victim of the day's death were eliminated, There was a Death reference Added to Kalismoru's sentence however
- Kalismoru was referred to as "Super Instructor to the stars" in the Hoenn Dub, and "Kalismoa" in the Ginga TV Dub.
