Emotional Spectrum

Since the beginning of sentient life, the Emotional Spectrum has existed. Every intelligent being generates emotions. Each of the primary ones feed into a powerful spectrum. The different colors of the spectrum - red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet - each represent an emotion, and each power has its own embodying entity.

The ultimate extent of how the seven powers of the Emotional Spectrum can be harnessed and manipulated is not yet known. What is known is that the farther away from the center of the spectrum (green), the more influence the power has over its bearer.

Ion — Willpower Entity

Once thought to be merely an honorary title in the Green Lantern Corps, Ion is in fact the symbiotic willpower entity birthed from the green of the emotional spectrum. Its existence was kept a secret from the Green Lantern Corps since their inception, and it resided in the Central Power Battery to keep Parallax in check. Only after the destruction of the Central Power Battery were both Ion and Parallax set free. Ion wandered the cosmos for a time, and eventually was reined in by what was then the only surviving Green Lantern ring, that of Kyle Rayner. Kyle Rayner served as its host briefly, and noted that his powerbase was so greatly expanded, he didn't need a Power Battery or Power Ring to manifest the emerald energy. Following its extraction from his body by Sinestro, the Daxamite Sodam Yat was chosen as the new bearer. The Guardians' plan for the new Ion remains undetermined, but given Abin Sur's prophecy foretelling Sodam Yat's involvement with the fall of the Green Lantern Corps, they will continue to keep a close eye on Ion. Unlike Parallax, Ion does not influence the user's actions.

Parallax — Fear Entity

As soon as sentient beings in the universe felt fear, Parallax was born. As fear grew across the universe, Parallax gained its own sentience, and began traveling from planet to planet to feed off the terror it was creating. The Guardians finally imprisoned Parallax within the Central Power Battery, held in place by the concentration of willpower. Over time, the name and legend of Parallax was forgotten, only referred to as the "yellow impurity" which left the Green Lantern Corps' rings helpless against anything yellow. After the renegade Green Lantern Sinestro was himself incarcerated within the Central Power Battery, he discovered and awoke Parallax. The fear creature, under Sinestro's direction, reached out and infected the Green Lantern Hal Jordan and took possession of him. With the help of the Spectre, Jordan broke free of Parallax, and the monster found itself again without a host. Sinestro turned to a different Earthman and waged a private war of terror on Kyle Rayner to weaken his resolve. When he was at his lowest, Sinestro grafted Parallax onto his soul. Hal Jordan was able to free Kyle, and the Guardians Ganthet and Sayd split Parallax into four equal parts and placed them inside the Power Batteries of the four Earth Green Lanterns. Only time will tell how long this will detain Parallax.

Predator — Love Entity

The Zamarons are a tribe of female Guardians. They left the others billions of years ago after the remaining Guardians vowed to abandon all emotion. To that end, the Zamarons harnessed the violet power of the emotional spectrum: love. The Predator is the ultimate embodiment of that emotion: love with nothing to temper it. The love entity has inhabited several hosts over the last millennium, most notably the Earthwoman Carol Ferris. The entity emphasizes the aggressive nature in one's being, making the subject paranoid and highly obsessive. The Predator imbues its host with the power to latch onto and manipulate people's minds, and is able to change and affect them at the host's will.

The Emotional Spectrum in the Suburban Senshi Universe

As of this moment, the status of the Green Lantern mythology in the Suburban Senshi universe follows as closely as possible the mainstream DC universe version.
