Dimension Diver

Dimension Diver is a powerful sword belonging to Guyver Densuo. It has been used by two of his close friends, Zept and Miara.

Easily the most dangerous item Guyver carries, this double-edged sword has multiple seals under the guise of one simple ribbon, and even then, it rarely sees use in battle. He usually keeps the weapon phased out, rendering it useless, invisible, and untouchable by anyone until he sees fit to use it.

Given his relationship with Eiry, it's also likely that she has learned to use it for transportation.

Default Look

The Grip of the blade resembles a magic rod, it contains a translucent crystals protruding from the ends of either side. The ribbon seal is there. The grip is wrapped with a comfortable aged leather. There is no guard, nor is there a fuller as reality itself pulsates between the guard and blade, this remains constant regardless of weapon form. The edges, strong, weak, central ridge, and point of the blade is actually a pair of control blades. Dimension Diver has no scabbard.

The control blades snap together when in use for combat, it also does this when not in use, the blades connecting to one edge of the rod. The control blades open outward and rotate in a circular, perpendicular manner when using its teleportation based powers.

Given that the rod and control blades are not together while the sword is in use, the wielder does not have to modify his or her hand position, as the blade will move to whatever position is needed. One can for example grip the rod horizontally, yet have the control blades forward of the user's knuckles and use it to stab as one would a punching dagger. Instead of changing your grip, the blade would move for you.

Abilities

The weapon is capable of shifting and breaking reality. It's default form, with the exception of it being well balanced, leaves much to be desired. However, its abilities more then make up for it, allowing it to become denser, alter its weight, and even its shape. The more the wielder uses it, the more its abilities become apparent and available to him or her.

It is capable of transferring a person to any locale they have previously been to that they can remember. An exclusive area the wielder has access to is the "Gateway of Dimensions," allowing the user access to other worlds and dimensions. Any distance transferred to within the user's standard eyesight is nigh-instantaneous; otherwise the user will have to open a portal, ripping through reality. Repeatedly teleporting, or using portals, is extremely painful and draining to the body, nor is it something that one can grow accustomed to doing and is thus not used in such a way by Souldier.

Its reality shifting capabilities and Souldier's early-on reckless use of it brought him harsh reprimands from Genty Liam Douglas and his brothers, who took it upon themselves to play watchdog and ensure that he was more careful with it. During this time, however, Souldier discovered that the weapon's capabilities were hindered by its bad state. He went on to repair the weapon as best he could, making the portals he uses close up faster and with less damage to the surrounding area. The blade, however, is still quite dull, making it worthless in battle unless he infuses it with Ki or Elements.

Sealed Abilities

Reality Shift - Dimension's End
At the Gateway of Dimensions, one simply plunges the sword into the Dimension's portal-image, destroying it entirely. The thought of this terrified Souldier and he immediately had this sealed upon his discovery of the ability. This seal was executed by various techniques, ranging from Shaman Curses, Holy Prayers, Magical Enchantments, and even a Draconic Seal. This ability can not be removed by any one person.

Unsealed Abilities

Reality shift - Portal
Opens a portal to any place the user has been to. Can also provide transit to the Gateway of Dimensions. This default ability is the initial ability available to a fledgling wielder of the weapon.

Reality Shift - Teleport Self/Object
Self explanatory. Repeated teleporting is intensely disorienting.

Teleport Others
This was formerly sealed as a common courtesy; nobody likes being moved around without their consent. However, Souldier feels the need to take advantage of this ability while in battle and only uses it then as certain courtesies are forfeit in a fight. Will not teleport someone away from another's grasp or from an object/effect that is restraining the person.

Reality Shift - Phase
The Dimension Diver and/or the wielder is removed from phase, becoming intangible. The Sword can maintain intangibility indefinitely, which is usually how Guyver keeps it to maintain the weapon out of view. The user, with concentration, can maintain personal intangibility for long periods of time. This does not make the user invisible. The user can not affect or be affected by their surroundings. If something were to pass through them, it will affect the user's concentration and ability to stay intangible.

Reality Shift - Alter Self
The Dimension Diver is capable of changing its shape, density, and weight. Souldier is already accustomed to what he believes is its default state and rarely uses this ability. It's not sharp, but he can make it heavier and deceive, using it as a blunt weapon.

Reality Shift - Reality's Scar
One of the reasons Genty Liam Douglas and his brothers had reprimanded Souldier, this ability enables the user to slice at an opponent within view without the need to even draw the blade. One simply thinks and it happens. Souldier previously felt this ability to be too dangerous to use, as its effects on reality seem to be random and uncontrollable. He has removed it as he now believes he has matured and can control the weapon better. His thoughts rang true, as careless use can damage surroundings. This effect can also be delayed, the warping effect being obvious until it executes.

Undiscovered Abilities

As Souldier grows more experienced with the Dimension Diver, he will discover what else this Space-time altering weapon can do....

On February 14, 2011, Kevalyeh the Magus was sent flying across the room when using the sword. Perhaps there is something to be learned from this incident....

The Dimension Diver arcs and sparks when time is frozen...as if refusing to stop.

Trivia

The "Control Blades" are a reference to the Control Rods of a Force from the R-Type series.
