Crysteel
Crysteel is a fictional material composed of magically and spiritually refined sand once used in the construction of weapons by an ancient race known as the Ashalan of the Burning Sands. Casual inspection shows crysteel to be a nearly-transparent, glass-like crystal, though crysteel is easily harder and stronger than most modern metallic alloys. Furthermore, crysteel also has baleful properties against creatures corrupted by evil or unholy powers, and proves to be a magnificent conductor of ki, as well. Unfortunately, with the death of the Ashalan race many thousands of years ago, the secrets to forging crysteel are all but lost in the modern age. The Ashalan shared their secrets with scarce few outside of their race; the one known smith is Sakura Xadium Aino, who reforged the sacred blade Arataka into a crysteel weapon.
