Hoenn Dub Edits

  • The Opening Scene featuring a commercial for the Poképals movie was edited to show static with the text "Poképals: The Movie", Interestingly, The Background was the same for both versions (The footage the background was taken from however, already had static superimposed on the screen)
  • The Sistermon Twins were called Miss Reshiram and Miss Zekrom in the dub.
  • The names of Bill Barna and Joseph Hanera were changed to Alex and Pat, respectively, A possible reference to Alex Trebek from Jeopardy! and Pat Sajak from Wheel of Fortune.

Trivia

  • A second exclamation point (the one after the word "Movie" in the Ginga TV Dub title) was added to the Ginga TV Dub's episode title for shock value.
  • The plot of the episode is Based off of Sailor Moon Episode #21JNAV/17NAD, known as "Protect the Children's Dreams: Friendship Through Anime" in the Viz Dub, but also known as "An Animated Mess" in the DiC Dub.
  • This episode is one of the few cases of "Reverse Localization," as the Japanese title (in the Ginga TV Dub) of the episode is a translation of the DiC Dub Sailor Moon episode it is based off of. Similarly, the English Hoenn Dub title contains a part of the original episode's title.
  • The victim of the day, Bill Barna, and his friend Joseph Hanera, are references to William Hanna and Joseph Barbera. This also mirrors the episode it is based off of, where two members of Sailor Moon's animation team were referenced in said episode.
