Pinako has finally been accepted into Shiba Koen Municipal Middle School after spending her first 6 years at Youma-Kai Elementary School. When Pinako brings up the fact she's not able to fly of her own volition yet to her mother, Minako opens the door to declare that she would be taking Pinako to school. Once the two arrive, Minako gives Pinako a pep talk. However, before she can give Pinako her transformation pen, Pinako dashes off, not wanting to be late.
Pinako is picked on and ostracized on her first day for looking different and for being a Youma; she is then spotted and heavily berated by Omizuki and Mizudzuki before the teacher, Mortaur, piles on and validates the harassment before shooing Pinako off to receive a call from a mysterious man. Afterward, Mortaur asks if the man sent three youma to gather energy instead of two. Once Pinako relates her first day to her family, Minako is appalled and resolves to make Pinako one of the most popular students in the school by arranging a talent contest (which Kurenai refuses to let Pinako participate in before Minako forges her niece's name on the entry form).
