18+ Dating Game (Game)
Introduction
The 18+ Dating game is an exercise where three contestants, whose identities are unknown to the audience vie to be the date of of a bachelor / bachelorette player whose identity is known to the audience. The goal is for the Bachelor/ette to ask 20 questions of the various contestants, addressing each one to either an individual contestant or all three. After the questions have been answered (preferably in the most salacious and innuendo-laden manners possible), the Bachelor/ette will choose one to date, at which point the identities of the Contestants will be revealed, starting with the ones who were not selected.
The game usually has three rounds:
- A "Het" round for mixed-gender dating;
- A "Yaoi" round for male-male dating; and
- A "Yuri" round for female-female dating.
Since this is just for fun, even though your characters may not be usually Het / Yaoi or Yuri orientated, you can disregard that (just like at cons where they do have straight chars in the yaoi / yuri rounds anyway)
Gameplay
Since there will be three rounds we will need three players to volunteer as Bachelor/ettes and nine characters to volunteer as potential dates. The identity of the Bachelor/ettes will be known ahead of time so the potential dates can join the correct rounds.
FOR PURPOSES OF THE GAME THE POTENTIAL DATE CHARACTERS WILL BE ASSUMED TO NOT KNOW WHO THE BACHELOR/ETTE IS.
When the game starts, the Bachelor/ette will join. Then, the three contestants for the round will join, as "Contestant 1", "Contestant 2" and "Contestant 3". (You can work out with the game runner which rounds you will be in and they'll tell you if you are 1,2 or 3-- do NOT tell them who your characters will be, you can reveal that at the end)
The Bachelor/ette will ask their questions, get their (hopefully funny) answers and make a selection. Each round should ideally last 45 minutes to an hour, so plan accordingly.
At that point, you can use a nick change or just have your characters /join to reveal who they really are, starting with the ones who were not picked first. (the Game Runner should guide that process).
Remember to have fun!
