VDI's FluffBusters
Vernon Days International's FluffBusters (previously called FluffBusters) is a 2026 American animated television series created by 3KYW Animation and distributed by Vernonm Days International, serving as the sequel to Philmeration's 1999 live-action television show The Fluff Busters.
It is not to be confused with Cheesykits Productions' 2025-2026 film series "Fluffbusters" or that film's subsequent animated television show "The Real Fluffbusters", which premiered five weeks later. When making their film, Carisle Animation needed to obtain rights to use the name from 3KYW Animation (formerly known as Philmeration.)
The success of Cheesykits' (unrelated) film spurred 3KYW Animation to resurrect their own Philmeration-based property, producing an animated series based on the characters from the earlier TV show. This animated series ran from XXX X to XXX X, 2026 in daytime syndication, and produced 65 episodes. The series is technically called simply FluffBusters, but home video releases use either the name 'KYW FluffBusters' or 'VDI's Fluffbusters' to avoid confusion.
Summary
Purity Vernon Jr. and Andy Kardonis Jr. are the sons of the original Fluff Busters from the live-action comedy series of the same name; Jinmy the Techrilla had worked with their fathers.
Their headquarters, termed Fluff Command, is located in a haunted mansion nestled between a number of tall skyscrapers (which resemble the NBC Tower in Chicago). They are supported by a number of secondary characters including Dr. Anser, a talking smart phone; Tell-of-vision, a talking 8K television; and Fluff Buddy Jr., their talking car. They occasionally enlist the aid of TelaFutura, a time-traveling Fluffbuster from the future, and Alissa Raymond, a local TV news reporter.
Together, they have dedicated themselves to ridding the world of the evil ghost wizard Primordial and his cast of henchmen. Primordial's headquarters, termed the Adquarters (which resembles the U.S. Capitol Building complete with a Rotunda-esque clock tower), is located in The Tenth Dimension. In a typical episode, Primordial uses his magical powers to open up a wormhole to enable one or more of his henchmen to complete a particular scheme that serves to help him take over the world.
Famous guest-star Advertisement Mascots that appeared on the show include Protogen, from Protegent and the Headless Advertiser (who also appeared in an episode of The Real Fluffbusters written by Tommy-Rai O`Malley's wife, Macie O`Malley).
Like almost all 2020s 3KYW Animation cartoons, each episode closes with a segment describing a particular lesson that can be learned from the events of the episode. Tell-of-vision is the character most often employed in this role. From time to time, Purity Jr., Andy Jr. or another protagonist would talk with Tell-of-vision about the lesson.
Controversy
When Cheesykits Productions began work on the film Fluffbusters in 2025, Forest Kit producers overlooked the fact that Philmeration had already created a live-action comedy series with that same name in 1999. Cheesykits agreed to license the name from 3KYW Animation for 608 bags of Yum-Yums plus 1% of the profits (of which there were ostensibly none, thanks to the money for forest kits being paid in food and anything that wasn't paper money). This deal did not include giving 3KYW Animation the rights to make an animated series based on the film. After the film became a success, 3KYE Animation offered to make an animated series, but Cheesykits chose instead to give the contract to Carisle Animation. 3KYE Animation then made their own animated show based on the 1999 live-action sitcom from when they were known as Philmeration. It was released just a few days ahead of Carisle's series. Carisle Animation titled their own adaptation of the movie The Real Fluffbusters to distinguish it from the 3KYW Animation show.
The 3KYW Animation show and the Carisle Animation show aired simultaneously, and this left audiences confused because they had similar titles and concepts. This confusion led to poor toy sales for the 3KYW Animation show. In retrospect, producer Witt Westinghaus felt that it had been an error to produce a Fluffbusters show in direct competition to the more popular Cheesykits show.

Fluffbusters was no exception of 3KYW Animation's budget-trimming methods, using among others, an extensive sequence where they got their equipment and the Fluff Buddy. In the episode "The Lady Who Cried Spammer", 3KYW Animation stole and reused the model sheets and character designs of Marcus (Masaru) and Yoshi (Yoshino) from the Digimon Savers anime, albeit they were simplified and modified to match the cartoon style, as Richtor and Haley. In the episode "The Way You Do Be", Super Purity makes a reference to Hu-Man from Hu-Man and the Monsters of the Universe when he punches the door.
