Thunderscream Combat Constructs
Overview
The TSC-001 series of Expendable Magical Construct Drones are durable, frangible combat golems constructed by the Killmongerati Heavy Industries company on the Nede of Universe 1337-G. Killmongerati can produce about 2000 a day at full production capacity.
Designed to be used for the purposes of clearing out enemy forces with no regard for preservation of infrastructure or mercy, they are mass-produced combat machines that operate in "hoardes" like mindless schools of Piranha, swarming over their targets and attacking them without mercy until they run out of power or are destroyed.
The units are mindless drones, and so cannot fear, or be emotionally or logically swayed, or hacked.
Design
The constructs have curved scythe-like claws on their hands, barbed feet and knife-like adamantium teeth which which to slack, tear and stab their enemies. They can wield any weapon designed to wielded by humanoids with uncanny precision and brutal strength.
3 meters high, they are incredibly strong and fast, and they swarm their target, climbing on each other's bodies to rapidly cover giant foes, hacking, slashing and biting them incessantly.
Their bodies are fueled by pure mana, and if they are incapable of further inflicting harm on a target, they will self-detonate to inflict one last bit of damage.
Control
Each Hoarde platoon is controlled by one "General", a psychic who they are "keyed" to. That psychic is like a pilotfish who can inform the hoarde where to attack, when to start the attack, and when to stop. Everything else is left to the savage destructive instincts of the constructs. Constructs only move as a group, individual units cannot be singularly commanded.
If the General is knocked out, or leaves their range, the hoarde will revert to mindless savagery and destroy everything around them until their power is spent. The bond between a general and his hoarde is permanent; if the general dies, the constructs are useless and should be destroyed.
The range of control depends on how far the mind of the general can be boosted. Using other psychics to boost it will not work as the presence of a second mind would cause the command key to be unrecognized.
