Slaptrap is a CL4P-TP model, boxy, general purpose robot with a single ATV tire, manufactured by the Hyperion Corporation of Planet Pandora.
The Planet Pandora
Apparently he was dubbed the name Slaptrap because, according to him, his "friends" all loved to slap him because he always had such great opinions about their opinions. According to SL4P-TP, he was sent "on holiday" by his fellow Claptraps in an unmarked ship to an unknown destination. While drifting through space, his ship collided with a Dalek battle cruiser. Detecting no intelligent life on board, the Daleks opted to scrap the ship and take any technologies with them that could be incorporated into their own ships. It was at this time that Slaptrap decided to go on board with these other "robots" and opted to join their crew. After a couple days of offering his "assistance" to the Daleks, he ended up locked in a store room while awaiting a proper stateroom for his lodgings.
Some time after being locked in the store room, Slaptrap noticed the ship was being tossed and rocked by what he assumed was bad space weather, but in fact the ship had crossed over to the universe of Earth-1337-A, and had been engaged by hostiles from Earth.
After the attacks ended, and the Earth forces realized they had made a mistake in attacking the Dalek fleet, Slaptrap discovered that the lock to the store room had been broken. He once again ventured out to find the ship was in shambles, and the Dalek crew were working to save the ship. Figuring that they were to busy to accept his help, Slaptrap wandered off looking for a bathroom. He wandered and searched for weeks before remembering that he was a robot and did not have to use the bathroom...ever. He returned to the Dalek crew, noticing that they were busy with repairs, so he entertained himself by flushing various things out of the trash chute. After running out of things to flush, he again wandered the ship looking for ways to help his fellow robots save the ship. He soon found himself in the engine room and rolled over to the control panel. He noticed a panel that showed the now working engines, and the temperature gauges were reading "Normal." Slaptrap misread these gauges thinking that they said "AB-Normal" and decided that he had to save the ship!
He started pressing buttons and pulling levers until he managed to flush super heated plasma from the ship's engines into a vacant airlock, much to the Dalek's dismay. While the Daleks scrambled to try and rectify this, Slaptrap went to the airlock to observe his bold rescue of the ship. He was very impressed with his work, and thought of how great he was for saving the ship. While watching the super heated plasma as it floated in the vacuum of the zero-G sealed airlock, he suddenly had a passing thought that he had left his watch in that very air lock. Wanting to get this watch back, he depressurized and opened the airlock. This caused the oxygen enriched atmosphere of the inner parts of the ship to come into contact with the vacuum sealed super heated plasma, and caused an explosion! The initial explosion threw Slaptrap into a nearby escape pod, and he landed on the launch button. The escape pod was launched just as the exploding plasma spread throughout the ship and detonated, destroying the entire ship and its remaining crew. Slaptrap's escape pod fell to Earth with the remaining debris of the ship. First his ship crashed into the houses next door to The Hotel. All he could see was fire outside, so he panicked and cried out, "Help! HELP! I'm on fire! HELP!"
Some of the residents put out the fires by filling the crater with water. Now all Slaptrap could see was water outside the pod, so he panicked and cried out, "Help! HELP! I'm drowning! HELP!"
Then someone removed the water from the crater, and the dangers were gone. With nothing left to distress him, Slaptrap sat back and hummed his favorite tune, "Its Clappy! We're Happy!" After humming the chorus a few times, he got bored. Slaptrap then saw a button that read "Eject," and wondered what would happen if he pressed it. So he pressed the button, and was ejected from the pod into a tree, where he tumbled down the branches and fell flat on the ground. It was then that he came to meet the locals and introduced himself and his willingness to improve their lives!
Post Reboot
Due to the recent "reboot" after the collapse of the universe, and the scrambled timelines intersecting, SL4P-TP was never sent on his "Holiday" to encounter the Daleks en-rout to 1337-A. He thus has no future in the current timeline.
