Origins
Zail is, in essence, an android. Her origins are circuitry and software, and yet she is very human. Zail started her existence as an ideal, a twinkle in her creator's eye. Zaik is known for challenging the 'accepted norm' and his thirst for knowledge combined with his accomplished mind produced what was to become Zail, in the prototype AI technology he named Z. Over time he improved and refined the system until it began to improve itself. Herself. Zail claims to be her third "version," originally adopting the name Z-3. She revised this to Zail, a truncation of 'jezzail' and an apparent intentional mirror of her creator's moniker.
A Soldier, or a Weapon?
Coming into existence on a battleship ingrains a certain mindset, regardless of personality programming. Zail is a fighter, but does not, and has never, used any weaponry to fight her foes. The flipside of this is that she is an incredibly formidable foe in unarmed combat. Her movements are all made with precision, and every technique employed in battle very carefully calculated. Zail has knowledge of all the martial arts on Earth, and several from other worlds but rarely restricts herself to just one style.
Family
Zail remains completely loyal to her creator in the sense that most siblings have an unbreakable bond. They do not always agree, and even advanced artificial intelligence is not immune to the roller-coaster of human emotion. When it matters though, Zail and Zaik stand as one.
Present Day Living
Zail finds Earth and its people fascinating, but prefers the familiar home of The Infernus, and is rarely seen anywhere else. Inheriting Zaik's scientific eye, she spends most of her time helping him with research.
Dawn of the Ancients
Recent events have had a drastic effect on both Zail and that of the crew of the Infernus. More details will be revealed in an upcoming arc.
