Nima Tsewang is a young girl. She has brown hair and skin, and bright blue eyes, although they're often hidden under her bangs.

Character and Personality

While she currently seems shy among the inhabitants of The Hotel, it is unknown whether this is her true personality, or if it is due to her circumstances. While she doesn't seem to show the same fear with everyone, or with other Lupa, she does seem to be a little shy. She often speaks in a quiet voice. However, she seems to also be aggressive--or at least persistent--in pursuing training for herself, and for other things she may want, such as familiar foods from the Hotel restaurant.

Like most children (and Lupa, for that matter), she enjoys playing and being active, and can often be seen playing with Zalan, and occasionally has him as a "guest" in the dorm room she uses during the day and whenever else Miara Mitsuki has the kids at the Hotel.

Currently

To date, Nima still has not returned home after the second Seminar she attended in 2014, and as of August 2015 began taking dance classes in Tokyo, organized by Miara and Uffago. While she doesn't attend school in Japan, she is continuing to study under Uffago and the other Lupa. This is being augmented with language, science, etc., through a learning tablet guided by Aes.

Now considered a founding member of the astral seminar, she occasionally travels with Uffago or one of the other mentors to teach speakers and especially young astralgia in their own packs. She also learning counseling skills and techniques as a speaker, as well.

Appearance

Nima has long dark brown hair, which she very rarely leaves down. It's most often in two braids or a bun if she's been to dance class. Her eyes are bright blue. Although she still has one or two homespun jackets that fit, most of her clothes are now more modern, favoring leggings, colorful T-shirts, and long tunic-style shirts. She still wears boots almost exclusively when not barefoot.

History/Background

Nima was born in a pack living high in the Tibetan mountains, rather small and remote, rarely if ever seeing non-Lupa. The second child of non-astral parents, they were at first a bit daunted at the prospect of raising a child thought to be astralgia. However, things went fairly smoothly as she grew up. She comes from a loving home, and is on good terms with nearly everyone in the pack. However, like all but a few people, she has no experience with the outside world. She has an older brother, who was 32 when she was born, and her niece was born when she was 3.

At home with her parents, she is an only child, and helps with housework and some cooking. Much of her time is also spent playing out in the snow of the mountain tops where her pack lives. She has been taught a mix of Lupa and Tibetan culture, and speaks those two languages fluently. The pack Speaker taught her astral basics until his death in 2011; as the pack has been unable to find another Speaker, she has been without proper training since then.

For the most part, this wasn't a problem, and Nima continued the exercises she had done with her mentor. However, the lack of new instruction with her growing abilities has recently led to some unusual and disturbing incidents for both her and her pack in the last year. When Miara announced her intentions to hold another Astral Seminar and willingness to travel to teach those who were uncomfortable leaving their packs, Nima heard the communication, and determined to try to contact this person.

Although Nima was successful in contacting Miara, the experience was blundering at best, and Miara immediately traveled to Tibet in the early April 2013, where she spent two weeks working with Nima and getting to know the pack a bit. Through this training, Nima realized that without a Speaker, she needed all the training she could get while it was available, and her pack agreed. However, the pack attitude toward the outside world and fear of Humans led to the idea that the best way to do this was to simply send the girl with Miara, who was clearly quite capable of protecting her.

The 2013 seminar did a lot to bolster her confidence and she returned home with the promise of further training from both Miara and Svetlana. However, as the year went on and the 2014 seminar came up, she found her parents not any more willing to go with her, or even visit Tokyo for a few hours. Therefore, after the 2014 seminar, she didn't go home, waiting instead for her parents to come get her. As of August 27, 2014 they had yet to appear, and so she stubbornly refused to go home, and is still currently living in The Hotel.

Powers and Abilities

Physical

Like most Tibetan people, Nima dances and sings. She began taking dance lessons at a studio in Tokyo in the fall of 2015, taking classes in both basic ballet and modern dance, including ballet, tap, jazz, modern, a street class or two, ballroom, and even a few pointe classes.

Astral

Nima is astralgia, or high level astral, but at her young age it's unknown if she has any special abilities yet. She has, however, shown a large range of communication, being able to contact Miara (Tibet to Tokyo) on her own, and in the last year has had several unusual, if somewhat painful instances involving shielding or lack thereof. She has also had a dream or two and an experience while dancing that frightened her and some of her friends. This promises a powerful astralgia when she grows up, which can be dangerous without the proper training.

Other

Nima means "sun" in Tibetan language, while Tsewang means "empowered life."

Butter tea, one of the most common Tibetan beverages, is one of her favorite foods, and she will forego solid food entirely if it is available.

Retcon

Nima was originally part of Lego's elemental crystal plot, but as the players weren't able to connect timewise, this was scrapped when he overhauled the plot in 2017. The original entry regarding this is below.

Ice Warrior

On Wednesday, August 27, 2014, Nima became an elemental ice warrior when an unusual door in the Hotel lobby caught her attention and she stopped to investigate. The door opened to her touch, revealing a room filled with snow and ice, and a crystal which asked for her help. Astrally feeling nothing sinister, she chose to try to help if she could, and accepted the ice crystal offered.

That night, she and Uffago examined the crystal, and the next day he and Miara helped her forge a relationship with the crystal and explore the use of some of its' powers, including some of the attacks and protection that could be achieved with its' power. Within a few month, Miara and Nima tracked down the large crystal, which is in Antarctica.
