Klavier Gavin is the charismatic prosecutor/rock singer from America that has arrived in Japan to broaden his musical horizons. His trip led him to a fateful encounter with one Hiromi Kawanami...
Personality
Klavier comes off as a bit of a fop, but he is a rare breed: an honest and fair prosecutor. He is somewhat of a perfectionist, but not to the extent of his famous predecessors in the prosecutor's office, Manfred and Franziska von Karma. He speaks with a slight German accent (he has German ancestry and went to law school there) and is able to speak English, German and a little Borginian.
Recent History
WARNING: APOLLO JUSTICE SPOILERS, READ AT OWN RISK
Klavier became a prosecutor at age 17, following in the footsteps of older brother Kristoph, who was a prominent defense attorney. At the same time, Klavier began his band, The Gavinners, who he formed by recruiting people working in the police and other forms of law enforcement. They have released twelve albums and have had many smash hit songs, such as "Atroquinine, My Love," "Guilty Love," and "Gonna Chain U Up."

The young Prosecutor Klavier was instrumental in saving the life of Prosecutor Godot when, during the Prosecution of Godot for the killing of Misty Fey, he decided to seek the truth as opposed to merely winning, and assisted Miles Edgeworth (acting as Defense Counsel) in clearing Godot, bolstering Edgeworth's alternative scenario (namely that Possessed Misty had incapacitated Godot after he had wounded her, framed Maya, and killed herself thereafter, all in the name of vengeance against the Fey Clan), and effectively surrendering to the Defense. (see Phoenix Wright Fan case: The Bitter Turnabout)
End of the Gavinners
Over time, as with many bands, there was dissent among the ranks and Klavier was forced to fire his guitarist, police detective Daryan Crescend, after he was convicted of murdering an Interpol agent and smuggling Borginian cocoons. A few months later, The Gavinners announced that they would be breaking up, and Klavier took time off from the prosecutor's office to do a musical tour of the world and study up on international judical systems after seeing a successful test of the Jurist System in the court.
Klavier's older brother, Kristoph, is currently in prison for murder and for having masterminded the downfall of a prominent defense attorney through carefully crafted phony evidence. He refuses to talk to him or even acknowledge him.
