Description

Greatstone Village derives its name from their most noticeable defense against the Hollows. Huge pointed stones surround the village in a way that makes it look like an arena if it weren't for the houses and farms on the inside. From the outside, it looks like a huge cluster of sharpened stones, arranged largest in the back, and smaller in the front that appears to be an angled wall of death. All across the inside of their walls and around their buildings, they have torches that ward off the dead, they burn green. Greatstone has only two entrances, the back and front. The back leads to Ebonspire, and the front leads to the crossroads between Tidespeak and Fort Reave. They also have an iron lift-gate for each entrance that they drop as it becomes dark.

Within the jagged rocks is a muddy, sad place which has the misfortune of being a focal stop point for all three cities. This translates to it also being a major tension and action focal point as well. Many of the people within Greatstone take on a fatalistic attitude as they are either bullied into letting members of different forces in, or simply don't care anymore. Being such a small population, people are able to sustain themselves fairly well. Intelligent wolves who try to mitigate Greatstone's situation often hunt piranhas for the village and offer light spellwork for the citizens, should they need them.

Some say that Greatstone is one of Tidespeak's territories, but Tidespeak doesn't care, and Greatstone is really no-man's land. Laws in Greatstone are not a solid set of rules and guidelines, rather, they settle what little disputes they have by village counsel, so everyone has a say. Most disputes are over leaving this place, and how to do it. The people who are kept there are there to keep the place safe from being over ran with undead while the forces of the cities around Greatstone are vacant from within the walls. Greatstone is also sent better foods by Ebonspire, and medical care by any force present at the time... You know, after the conflict is over.
