Lunar Crescent

The Mark of the Lunar Royal Family of the Silver Millennium, given to members of the bloodline, their closest trusted advisors, and their inner court.

Appearance

It is a shiny, gold, three dimensional embossed Crescent Moon, typically displayed horns up, or sideways in the case of latter members of the Selenity Clan such as Astrum. Renegade factions such as the Black Moon Clan sport a black variant of the same.

Types

- Royal / Advisor Crescents, which are custom-made for each member of the Royal family and their innermost retinue which are imbued with their DNA and life-force to serve as an unforgeable means of identification and authentication.

- Inner Court Crescents, which are lower-quality mass-produced versions tied to their owner by a simple DNA print, and which have less potent capabilities than the Royal versions.

Functions

All crescents can perform simple functions such as instant translation, thought transmission, and telepathic links for secure communications. They can also channel energy and emit beams which can attract or repel, which can aid users such as the Lunar cats who have no hands to perform delicate operations. They also serve as "tags" allowing one to be tracked if they are in a facility such as the Palace that has scanners set up for it, or if they are within close range of someone else with a crescent.

If a wearer has sufficient power behind them, the crescents can even be used as a powerful weapons.

Royal Crescents can also serve as "keys" enabling access to various secured facilities and computers, as well as allowing direct connection to the Ginzuishou-- and in special circumstances to allow members of the Royal or Venusian bloodlines to actually interact with , channel the power of, and in radical cases, extract the Ginzuishou from the body.

Creation

While Inner Court crescents are mass produced by machines, the Royal Crescents are hand-forged by Venusians out of small blocks of Kinamantine which are mentally reshaped into the crescent and mixed with a small droplet of the intended owner's blood (to cause the crescent to imprint and bond with them).

This method of construction dates back to the earliest times of the Solar System when the Goddess Venus presented herself to the Lunar Court and an alliance was formed between the Moon and Venus, as they were the two bloodlines that could wield the power of Ginzuishou as was explained by Future Chibiusa.
