One of the most powerful, if not the most powerful monster on Earth, Godzilla, or Gojira, is one of the greatest threats and greatest protectors of mankind. Godzilla resides on Monster Island along with many other monsters.

Godzilla: First Generation

Origin

Not much is known of the origin of the creature that became the monster that would attack Tokyo in the 1950s. It is suggested that his creation has something to do with an atomic test on Bikini Atoll, though nothing has of yet been verified.

Godzilla: 1954

In the year 1954, several fishing ships mysteriously sank. The survivors washed up on the nearby Ootojima island, their bodies covered in strange burns, and they quickly died from radiation sickness. The islanders believed this to be the work of an ancient creature they called Godzilla.

The next night, Godzilla appeared, and later made his way to Tokyo, leaving a path of destruction behind him. No weapons seeming to have an effect on its massive body. The price of this attack was high, leaving children without mothers and hundreds contaminated by radiation.

However, hope was not lost. A Doctor Serizawa had invented a horrible device known as the oxygen destroyer, which could possibly destroy the horrible beast. It was successfully used, and Godzilla was killed, but Serizawa committed suicide so that his secrets would never be discovered again. All of Japan breathed a sigh of relief, unaware that it was not the end of the nightmare.

Powers and Abilities

The first Godzilla was at his core a large irredatied repitlian creature. It is known that it's skin was extremenly tough able to withstand the poundings of missiles, bulliets and bombs. It also had the ability to fire irradated flame from it's mouth, which few materials were immune to. Unlike it's later successiors, the original Godzilla did not have a healing factor. Unique, however, to this monster was it's tendency to radiate radiation outward from it's body, so that everywhere it stepped, it would leave patches of high radiation. Due to this highly radioactive nature, it was also known to have glowed underwater.

Godzilla: Second Generation

Origin

During WWII, a small Japanese platoon found itself pinned on the small island of Lagos by the American forces. However, they were saved at the last moment by a large dinosaur, later labeled Godzillasaurius. Plowing through the American land forces, it became heavily injured in the attempt. After the Japanese left in 1953, the entire island was destroyed in the testing of a nuclear weapon by the United States.

Godzilla Raids Again: 1955

This second Godzilla soon made its first appearance when two pilots accidentally came across it in battle with another monster, later to be known as Angurius. The two monsters soon brought their battle to Osaka, where Godzilla injured Angurius to the point of a coma, and leaving the city in flames. Tracking the beast to an icy island, several jets were able to bury the beast under ice.

King Kong vs. Godzilla: 1962

Early in 1962, there were reports of unusual warming in the arctic sea. Sent to investigate, the USS Seahawk encountered a glowing iceburg. Crashing into it, they unwittenly unleashed a trapped Godzilla. The creature made its way slowly toward the Japanese countryside, destorying all in its path. At the same time, reports came in of another monster, King Kong, taken from its native island, which escaped from the pharmicudcal company responsible for its handeling. Their first encounter ending with King Kong's defeat, and the JSDF soon decided on pitting the two monsters against one another, drugging Kong and dropping him near Godzilla on Mt. Fuji. Kong was soon successful in defeating Godzilla, but only thanks to its absorbtion of electricity. The two monsters soon fell into the ocean during an earthquake, with Kong being spotted swimming home.

Mothra vs. Godzilla: Early 1964

After a devestating hurricane hit the Japanese coast, the king of the monsters once more reappeared to terrioze the country. Numirious tries to were to made to stop the monster, including a barrage of missiles from the US Navy. However, all proved useless in stopping the monster's rampage. One last attempt was made, this time asking the female diety monster Mothra, whose egg was carried to Japan during the same hurricane that brought Godzilla. Agreeing to it, Mothra nearly defeated the monster before she died of old age. However, her battle was taken up by her two larvae, who wrapped Godzilla in silken threads and pushed the monster into the sea. The two larvae then returned to Infant Island.

Ghidorah The Three Headed Monster: Late 1964

Later that same year, a woman who claimed to be from the planet Venus began to make numerous prophecies. Many of these came true, including the reappearance of both Rodan and Godzilla. These prophecies culminated in a space monster known as King Ghidorah appearing. It was decided the one surviving Mother Larvae would attempt to convince Godzilla and Rodan to fight against this one greater threat. While an early attempt was unsucessful, a single act of bravery by the young monster changed the larger Kaiju's mind. Joining forces, they managed to chase off King Ghidorah from Earth.

Invasion of the Astro-Beast: 1965

Under the authority of the UN, a co-American-Japanese space flight was made using expermental technology to explore a newly discovered planet which had drifted into the solar system (Planet X). Encountering the native lifeforms, the so called Xialiens, the UN made a deal with them: In return for a cure to all known ills, the Earth would lend them the monsters Godzilla and Rodan to fight off King Ghidorah, who had apperently been attacking them. However, it was soon discovered to be a trick: mind-controlling the three monsters to attack the planet in hopes of taking it over. The aliens would soon be driven off thanks to the discovery of their sensivitity to high frequency sound. The monsters, meanwhile, freed of the alien influence, would go their seperate ways, Godzilla and Rodan driving off Ghidorah into space once more.

Godzilla vs. The Sea Monster: 1966

According to a group of teenagers, they encountered Godzilla on an island which had been populated by a terrorist organization known as the Red Bamboo Army, as well as a giant condor and a giant shrimp named Ebirath. However, due to the nature of the witnesses, this event had never been proven to have happened.

The Son of Godzilla: 1967

In 1967, the UN initiated Operation: Snowfall, an experiment in weather control headquarters on deserted Sogell Island. According to reporter Goro Maki, an accident in the early experiments bathed the entire island in radiation, which not only mutated the native fauna but hatched a long dormant egg containing a baby Godzillasaurius, also mutating it in the process. Goro Maki's report went on to state the appearance of the monster Godzilla, who defended the baby monster, until a second testing of the experimental equipment yielded a massive drop in temperature and sent both creatures into a state of hibernation. Maki's testimony has been verified by the surviving scientists of the project.

Godzilla vs. Hedorah: 1971

In January of 1971, the Ikeyu Comet passed by Earth, sailing over Japan in the process. Unknown to all at the time, it carried with it a microscopic life form from the Dark Gas Nebula in the Orion system, a life form which deposited itself in the polluted waters of Suruga Bay. The life form would soon multiply, then recombine, growing exponentially. While in the spring of that year, there would be rare sightings of this "dark monster" attacking ships in the water, it would not be until the attack on Professor Yano that officials would take notice of the threat. Dubbed Hedorah, the creature would continue terrorize the bay area, attacking clubs, cars and feeding on the pollution from the industrial areas, evolving it's form all the while. Apparently sensing the threat looming within his "territory", Godzilla would attempt to face the monster twice, only to lose both times. A final attempt would be made to defeat the menace, by now evolved into a 60 meter tall biped, after it killed a large number of teenagers at Mt Fuji. Using large electric screens in attempt to dehydrate the creature, the attempt was beset by issues including interference by another attempt to destroy the monster, as well as constant power failures. It's ego apparently hurt from the last attempts at battle, Godzilla showed up once more to fight, only to be nearly burned alive in the space monster's acidic sludge flow. The battle would only be turned by the monster, showing a rare sign of intelligence, pushing Hedorah into the active screens, reducing it to dried powder. Samples are later gathered by the government for study.
